Well, if he saw his buddy after all this time outside the bank, I should think he'd be onto the buddy about the missing half-share of the buried gold. . He needs to realilse that the map with the directions which he'd been given half of, all those years ago, was just a device to trick him; the army buddy had memorised what was on the given map-half and it never dawned on this patient that he'd been tricked, big-time ages ago. . No "legal" claim, now, on any monies. . . Cheers. from, del-boy.
Hey guys. I'm battling from schizophrenia. I'm not asking for money or views or anything, but just for support and for people to hear me out. My psychiatrist said to let people know about your problem, but everyone thinks I'm weird and my family cannot understand or take me seriously. I made a blog about my problems, and I hope we can talk on there. My blog is battlingschizophrenia.blogspot.com . Fellow schizophrenics, you should also come. We can fight the battle together.
I see the psychiatrist is having problem digesting the patient's story of rebirth and sudden remembrance of an event before death in a flash. It does not make the patient necessarily delusional...did the guy follow up on his instinct???
@00iam Yes, you are quite right. Mad people can have very sensible ideas too. . Can you, 00iam, work out where the gold is today? . Let me know, I have a shovel (and a handgun), we could get it together ! . . Cheers. from, del-boy
People do this to me all the time and it is quite funny when I catch them when I am not delusional. I remember I was suffering from narcolepsy while being tracked by aliens and wouldn't you know it that after I fell asleep at the wheel some of them passed me and gave me a thumbs down. They were driving a car with navy plates too. I took this as a sign from the aliens that I shouldn't fall asleep behind the wheel. What do you think? heh
I would like to add weight to the earlier point. You should use real people wherever possible. It is all too easy to misdiagnose;e.g. many conditions can appear to be anxiety. An NHS psychiatrist correctly diagnosed me with Anxiety, but after spending just 15minute with me, he bizarrely labeled me compulsive! Apart from the call of nature, an the need eat and sleep I have no obvious rituals, and I appear to have the same routines as most other "normal" people. So real examples are important!
You should only use real people, not actors for this stuff. Real is real. If you can't get permission from real patients, you need to wait until you can find someone. Acting is just good acting. You've shown us good acting.
@barkulator I don't think they should just wait until they find someone. And there is nothing wrong with good acting. It's realistic and at least the people are completely consenting. A person going through an episode might not be able to properly consent.
@barkulator As an educational tool there is good validity and research evidence around using simulated patients. It also addresses the consent and capacity issues inherent in showing mental illness. Not every eventuality can be foreseen and consented for.
To only have so-called real people and not actors, universally, for this type of presentation would dramatically limit the opportunity for study of the sick and disabled; which would also mean that experience could only be gained from studying one's own family and friends, which in the case of your studies, would mean that students were not able to extrapolate to the remainder of the Real world, everyone else.

So, let's say re-incarnation is real.
Let's say higher intuition is real.
Then that would perfectly explain his experience.
Ofcourse science blames everything on coinsidence(since there is no proof or evidence to back these experiences up.)
So the coinsidence is more of an excuse, than an answer.
But hey, psychology cant take a risk like that.
So it's a mental disorder.
But hey, I can't tell. he's probarly just 'filling in the blanks'
