n97 is way better than the n97 mini maybe the n97 mini has less bugs but the n97 is the best phone ever , and it is one of the best ram phones in the world (128 mb )

This phone looks so promising, I wish it was better designed though, shorter, a bit wider, and maybe thinner, I don't really like the keyboard, I wish it had an onscreen keyboard. And I also don't like so much plastic around the screen, couldn't they make it more streamlined? with narrow bazels around the screen?

Basically IMO, it should've been N95 8GB size with minimum plastic around the screen and narrow horizontal buttons.

First of all, I want to state that I am a Nokia N/E Series user.

Second of all, nokia is the world wide leader in phones in their lower tier phones. symbian 40 phones mostly because they are affordable and solid phones for calling/texting. And so yes, technically they are/were the world leaders but not in the multimedia category in which you are talking about.

Well the fact is that Nokia isn't going to do any big changes on the hardware(thought they do have 600mhz ARM11 running on E52 for example and on one other phone) before Symbian^2 phones start appearing by SE and Nokia in 2H of 2009. For me considering how fast 5800 is already with the newest fw and how Nokia supports it's S60 phones i will probally pick this up or wait for Symbian^2 phones.

I love this phone. But now I have my doubts. Can anyone tell me if I should be worried that the processor only has ARM11 434MHz processor and 128MB of RAM. Or is this something that can be overlooked?

You should not worry in my opinion. My E71 has supposedly a slow processor yet is super fast for everything. The battery optimization is also very good and the slower cpu should help even more. People bitch about the Symbian OS but they only look at the UI... but under the hood it's a terrific OS!
