"No member of the public has ever been injured by a nuclear reactor in the u.s" What a load of crap. Many, many people were injured by Three mile island. The media has covered it up but the fact is millions in damages were paid by the owner of the plant to people that suid them for damages and injuries. Many people living near the plant got sick and died of cancers after the accident.

In america a court ordered McDonalds to pay a stupid thick woman that burned her thighs by spilling a cup of hot coffee on herself; the court's reasoning was nobody warned her and there was no label on the cup. That is the sort of imbeciles running the US court system; therefore damages (paid for psychological trauma and lowered property values) do not indicate at all any long term health affects on the affected populace.

How is nuclear "clean"? Once again, the life-cycle costs and emissions are neglected in the comments. Oh!, and I didn't hear any mention of nuclear waste.

I believe he meant clean because it doesn't emit CO2. And the waste is proposed to be stored in Yucca Mountain. Though, I am uncertain of what they will do once the mountain is filled.

Search for linear accelerator driven fission reactor; it is able to use all heavy actinides as fuel (including nuclear waste). High activity waste such as Cesium can be stored for the two hundred years in dry casks before it decays to safe radiation levels.
