Going green is about more than reducing pollution (particularly in dense urban areas) which effects air quality and reduces potential smog advisories. It also can reduce the cost to travel, the maintenance of parts (because there are less and smaller) and it also makes our economies work more efficiently, because we have better than 20% give or take, petroleum, plus transporting it!

What is better than petroleum IC engines has existed just as long. It needs crude also. But the point is not to reach 0, it is the significant reduction which we are capable of. The amounts we emit now is unnecessary to what we are capable of. The efficiency we have now, is unnecessary to what we are capable of, and everyone knows, electric with complimentary power plants are definitely more efficient than gas. And batteries are improving which was the problem of the past.

It's really the markets that have to have in all aspects to only accept the best varieties of products, and do away with nearly 50% of the crap being manufactured.
