  • Doesn't look hard, will try next time.

  • Thanks for the video. That technique isn't so hard.

  • Thanks heaps!!!!!

  • The guys is just trying to help out those less experienced, give him a break. I don't see you commenters posting any videos teaching swim lessons.

  • Thank you... I'll try it .... I got enough of swallowing water

  • Teeheehee he's cute.... *__*

  • @kingbollywood22 Exhale under water, through the nose.

  • Adding to favorites, good video.

  • So when exactly do you Breath out?! HELP PLEASE!

  • @kingbollywood22 You should breath out right now

  • @kingbollywood22 breath when your head is in the water blow bubbles to get air out

  • hey, good-looking ;)

  • press 3 over and over

  • i hate him

  • This man is a god of number theory...

  • Sorry but you don't breathe as you pull but went your done pulling so that you can utilize to the maximum the air bubble created by your head, arm and your speed. This will ensure you a maximal utilization of your underwater pull and you can't end up breathing water witch is THE best cardio KILLER there is. :) hope I could help you, am a high level swimmer, been swimming for 10 years so I know my lessons, am also a nationally certified trainer.

  • Great breathing technique and tips for swimming

  • i would like to join the pole shift survival group or start the new one.

  • excellent tips

  • I never realized that. Nice.

  • He should be the best back-yard swimmer

  • It's called bilateral breathing and it's mostly used in open water..

  • Sorry dude but you got it wrong here, what you say isn't true

  • @ sabatonchik - ahahahah! kinda hot guy who teaches on dry land

  • Thorpe, Phelps actually most world record holder swimmers dont do a 3 stroke breathe....so you fail.

  • @atombond In theorie, the less you breathe the faster you go, since by looking at your speed graphic, everytime you breathe, your speed goes down and you have to use more energy simply to get back to the level it was, that's why in a 50 you only breathe 3-5 times in the whole race. This is also why you should not breathe right before the flip turn, it's a momentum killer. Same thing for after the underwater torpedo, you lose your speed witch is at it's maximum at that moment.

  • not to mention all the wrong stuff about breathing. he puts his hands in completely wrong. never take expertvillage advice on swimming. just watch olympians and copy them as much as possible. there's a reason this guy is making crappy vids for expert village and not making a living as a pro swimmer or pro coach.

  • breathing every 3 or more is great for sprinting. but this guy is completely wrong when he says never breath on the same side. all swimmers would know breathing every 2 strokes is the most efficient for 200m and more

  • What is this guy talking about? I have NEVER seen a swimmer (hobby or professional) swim on two sides before. And besides - you have to do some pretty strange thing with your neck to get pains in it from turning it in some direction in order to breath in/out. And all that counting...Geesh, is this a lesson on calculus or whut? Just do a warm up, a stretching, jump into the water and enjoy it. Breath on one side. If you don't believe me - look at a couple of Olympic competitions and learn.

  • hahahaha ... dry land swimming expert ... cool description.

  • i wanna start taking swimming classes but is it allowed to wear an swim shirt and swim trunks because i dont feel comfrotable going almost naked or is it prohibited to use any other clothes but swim suit wh could any1 answer my doubt ill aprecciate iten one is tryong to learn the basics i mean beggining swimming classes could any1 answer my doubt ill apreciate it

  • Thank you for keeping your instruction clear and simple. Big help!

  • I just watched a clip of Michael Phelps swimming freestyle and he breaths on the 2nd stroke, same side, everytime. Guess he hasn't seen this video yet.

  • @bamatopher during races, people breath to their comfortable side so no distractions and choking happens. in practice, most people go back to odd breathing for even muscle development

  • wow, I checked, and its true what he says - 1,3,5,7 are all odd numbers!!! damn

  • ya'll made alot of vids

  • Yea, with this kind of instructions, you better stay OUT OF THE WATER !!!!!

  • mmm cute

  • Thanks for all of your videos

I want you to make a video of how to stay still in water

I have a problem when swimming.

    I can't stay still I allways sink

    Please do that for me

    Thanks

  • great lesson thanks for it =)

  • Genadijus Sokolovas, you know who is this person? He is best scientist in america who are training best swimmers in america including and Michael Phelps, and he was changing my swimming technique, so maybe i know? :D

  • lol dis guy is gud ^_^

  • so why Michael Phelps are breathing us 1 3 5 7? :D And one more your head must move with your body...:)

  • this guys is so hansome

  • hello! great vid.But i got a question : how often should i train (swimming) per week and how much time and length(meeters/km) should last my training if i want to gain mustles? Cause i cant stop with hours. I know thats no good for mustle gain and i just need an expert advice . TY in advance

  • This is the longest explanation for how to count to three I think I've ever heard.

  • I tought you head always has to be straight and you rotate your whole body. Or is that another technique?

  • Stupid question, but I got to ask... when do u exhale in this odd number technique?

  • @cfhasib When your face is in the water?

  • @cfhasib You should always exhale when your head is in the water. So you dont confuse yourself.

  • Excellent directions for a beginner. I had my first swimming lesson two days ago and I had forgotten what my coach had told me about the breathing. Not only did you help remind me, but you also clarified some problems I had. Please post more!

  • Instead of counting "one, two, three, breathe" maybe count in your head "one, two, breathe." Because if you are still counting to three and stay at the same rhythm then you missed the time to breathe. "one, two, breathe" seems easier for me.

  • @chau2k5 same here. "one, two, breathe" with "breathe" replacing "three" is easiest for me not to get all confuzzled

  • @chau2k5 yeah this guy kinda did the one, two, three, breath xD

  • why hello there mister hottie. i must admit that you are talking some nonsense about the "never breath on the same side" stuff, but you are ridiculously hot and i like listening to you talk. hehe

  • you explain like you talk to retards... you need water to swim. do you know that? haha

  • THANK YOU this is great just had my 1st lesson last week this a big help!

  • This is ridiculous, why do you say "Never, ever, ever breath on the same side."? Grant Hackett breathes every two.

  • Do you keep your fingers together like a cup or separate them in the water or just above the water when you are bringing your hand forward

  • haha i breathe on the same side and i still get a 20 on my 50..what!

  • You guys need to stop hating on him. He is just teaching the basics.. jeez

  • I'm not sure if this dude really knows how to swim. Movement and timing seems too awkward.

  • @AntoH

You exhale when your face goes into the water.... Why else would you need to take a breath :p

  • I just found out this mofoe was a lifeguard for three years and a swimmer in varsity, JV in a high school. This guy must either have 3 year memory or suck a big time at teaching people.

  • YES! thank you for cutting him off at the end. he's hidious

  • dude ur sofuking stupid i cant belive it...first 1 2 3 breath u done it wrong u breath on the other side go swim in the dessert expert village sucks

  • dude your soppose tobreath on one side and only one side

  • cool

  • So, when you should exhale?

  • its him again from that expert villiage programme

  • Very Cool.. Im actually learning how to swim properly after swimming for soo... many years

  • most useful for open water swimming in bad condition. very important video. thanks

  • Can he actually swim?

  • Thanks, man.. I got at last )))

  • @MegaCrash88 thanks

  • This guy is telling a few fibs. To actually swim a long distance 90% of long distance swimmers will breath to the one side. The reason your neck hurts after a while is because you are twisting your head rather than when you do it properly you body should roll onto each side so there isn't a need to yank your head to go up to breath. If you do it corrrectly your neck shouldn't hurt. Well thats what my triathlon coach says.

  • Thank you for that young man.Now i will go swiming...

    Peace

  • wew

  • you are hot. lol

  • @royallov I know! Very hot!

  • very helpful, rated 5 stars

  • I have gills. stfu

  • thank you for your advice. im an ok swimmer, but used to swimming widths with no breathing. just changed pools and have to now swim lengths. my breathing is not good. had a good swim this morning and struggled. tonight my neck is very sore. so tmrw im gonna try your method.

  • im not sure why everyone is doggin this dude hes out there showing a technique that works for him..same technique they teached us in high school 13 5 7...he didnt say you have to breathe this way its advice take it or leave it.

  • I don't even know what to say about this "toolbelt". What a idiot. Youtube should ban him.

  • What the hell is wrong with counting evenly, and always breathing on the same side? Most competition swimmers always breath on the same side! There's nothing wrong with breathing only on your right, or only on your left side - it's actually more effective for most professionals! This guy is retarded

  • Actually, it's good to be able to breathe to both sides: (1) it helps even out any asymmetries you have in your stroke (2) it helps you be able to breathe when you want (instead of waiting for the "right" stroke to come along) and (3) if you are swimming in open water the conditions (wind, choppy water, waves) might make breathing to a certain side difficult or impossible (if that is the only side you can breathe to you are in trouble).

  • @iiiBlueSparkiii yes, it is good to be able to breath to both sides. Once you can easily breath on both sides though it's most beneficial to breath whenever you're out of air - even if that ends up being on the same side. It's kind of like what you said - you don't want to have to wait for the "right" stroke - whether that be 2,3,4,5 or 7.

  • @scotty123123 I agree. It's not that bad to breathe on the same side. And ya, like you said a lot of professionals do it. Phelps does it all the time.

  • really its good to show an example in water then on land

  • jep skeletorkun, this guy makes a 4 stroke breath....what a idiot!

  • Obviously the guys has trouble counting :D 1..2..3.. (4) breathe. .did anybody else notice?

  • yup

  • i can do a 500 meter without breathing. I developed gills as a child, and i'm in a glass bowl right now

  • @fuzzydizzle thanks for outing yourself. ill contact the governmental research team to come collect you in the following days.

  • @fuzzydizzle lol

  • @fuzzydizzle i can do 1500 m without breathing

  • @fuzzydizzle my name is ponyo

  • @CCCPchaz loool :3 !!!!!

  • @fuzzydizzle what do you sexual organs look like?

  • Where do you exhale?

  • in the water. blow bubbles out ur nose.

  • i hope your talking about swimming on land ;) cause its wrong if its in water

  • this guy is dry land swimming expert!

  • what about

    1 2 breath

    1 2 breath

so we will never breath in the same side.

  • It works. More for long distance swims.

  • 1:19 !!!!?

  • yeah I know. they should just film him swimming a lap, THEN explaining what he did.

  • If you follow his way of turning the head, you will be drown in no time. The arm and the head turn is just wrong. This video is a joke or something?

  • don't turn your head.....ever! your head should roll with your body, arm strecthed in front.

  • 1 2 3 (4) breath 1 2 3 (4) breath...

  • nobody listen to this guy

he doesn't know what he is talking about

    not even close to correct

  • expert village is a joke

  • Be nice, he is cute!

  • AHAHA HIS SWIMMING FAILS TOO his pulling above the water is terrible

  • LOL this guy is stupid, he counts 3 and then he does a 4th and turns his head

  • Nice video. But I am unable to inhale, I can exhale thru mouth or nose..But getting water inside my nose when trying to inhale..

  • Comment removed

  • btw,...u'r handsome...;)

  • horee...I understand what u'r lesson are. Don't use only one side to take breath b'cause my neck will stiff. Start count when (one of) my hand touch water. And start breath when I pull (one of) my hand down (hand on the last count).

I'm sure I can do it as u told me on that video. Thanks...I feel more expert now!

  • well done!! trying outside first was a brilliant tip!!! Thank you! I have got a swim lesson tonight :)

  • yo the crawl stroke and freestyle is the same technique right?

  • God the camera work is shit.

  • I learned how to breathe on my own. 3 hours in the pool this week and I seem to have it nailed pretty good. This video is quite valuable in that I had previously thought it didn't matter which side to breathe on. My swimming instructor told me just to keep my head OUT of the water and inhale through my nose and exhale through my mouth, but I wasn't taking his word for it. Of course, we weren't discussing freestyle. Does it take less stamina when your hands are closed as opposed to being open?

  • I know how to swim but needed to remember how to breath. Thanks for the help.

  • NICE TEACHING - I learned from it - Thanks

  • it's not the counting that is hard, but breathing on both sides is hard...

  • omg i dont agree wit how he says never to breathe on the same side...explain why michael phelps or any other great swimmer breathes on the same side

  • i think for overall development and training it is better to breath on different sides, as it develops both sides of your body equally. but in the competitive swimming, i think its just what you comfortable with, as it is usually easier to breath on one side - which makes it simpler and hopefully quicker

  • In training they'll breath on both sides, you just breath on your natural side in races as its faster, but in training you breath on both sides so your body develops evenly.

  • lol..."stroke"

  • you are a very great man

  • This guy is fucking horrible at teaching.

  • mmhhmmm i totally dont agree wit him

  • Thanks for the help dude

  • forget about all those losers below....this is very good video

  • i think he did a good job, nice video!

  • sorry, but your videos suck

  • Hi there, Im learning freestyle swimming now, and if I were to breathe without pulling my arm, Ill drown again. May I know how to solve this? thanks

  • Go drown yourself.
