That being said, I love the critique of those who think that, because they are busy attempting to make a world in which there are no poor, they are exempted from helping the poor now. We may one day manage to create a world with no poor, but until that day comes we all have a duty to give what we ought, and I for one have found the only safe measure of giving enough is to give more than I can spare.
1 objection to this video: matters of public policy are different from matters of private virtue, though I would say that for good government to exist people must have the latter. The thing that a lot of people miss about Jesus: He asked people to give to the poor mainly because the act of love would be life-giving to themselves. That the poor were fed was an added bonus.
It's not anti-Jesus. You'll notice the real Jesus of Nazareth is in there...in his traditional, made-of-awesome role. This is a critique of a (percieved?) greed invading the thinking of conservative Christians.
How wonderful... this is the perfect mirror to hold up to so many faux-christians.... can't wait til they meet their maker.... eternity is an inconceivably long time to burn in Hell.... is this greedy life of cruel immoral conspicuous consumption worth it?
@ColbyDog Those of us outside your faith are equally perturbed by the double standards many Christians tout, and those of us more concerned with this life sigh heavily that more is not done to stop them.
ufff so true

All they have is ridicule. Two thousand years of dragging humanity out of it's brutal past and all the left has is derision.

I'd laugh harder if this wasn't an accurate representation of GOP's actual ideals. They've stood Christianity right on it's head.

Some people fool themselves into believing that they follow both Jesuses... or even that they are the same.
Somehow, I can't seem to get this other hump through that needle...
