In my opinion scream the first one was the best because as it was the first it was an element of surprise, so maybe for the 5th (which I hope they do coz I love scream so much !!!) they should ask teenagers and adults what scares them the most and put that into it coz you have your element of surprise
I still think if "Rio" hadn't come out the same day as "Scream 4" it would've done better at the box office, but still it was #2 in the box office and that's still good enough for them to do "Scream 5"

@wrestler5534 How do you know that Scream 5 will be in theaters on july 2012. Did you read it somewhere, is it official? I haven't heard anything official by Dimension Films.
@wadai2 I don't know. But if a script is ready by fall then they might start shooting in summer of 2012. That is if Wes, Neve, Courtney and David are on board for Scream 5. Then the movie might be released in early/late 2013. It all depends on how fast Kevin can complete a script. Also how soon Dimension Films wants the movie to be released. :)
@wadai2 Yes, Wes did say he had no plans to make Scream 5 in the immediate future. He and his wife both worked on My Soul To Take and Scream 4. So they decided to take a break and enjoy their summer. But Wes does have first dibs on Scream 5 if Dimension Films decides to go foward with it. Hopefully come Fall, Kevin Williamson has a FINISHED script sitting on Wes's desk. Because Wes said he wants to see a finished script before he decides to take up the job of directing Scream 5! :)

@AudioBookBoy12 I agree!! It was an awesome movie! But so far domestically its box office is at $37 million. Foreign is slightly better with $57 million so wordlwide its made $95 million. It did make up its $40 million budget. I'm sure it will make more money with DVD/Blu Ray sales. I am sad it made so little $ but i though it was a great movie.

@AudioBookBoy12 I thought Sid had died too! I was actually nervous going in to watch the movie because of all the rumors about Sid possibly dying. When she got stabbed and fell, I told my brother "She's faking it, Right?!!" Then Jill was the only one pulled out and was the main focus. I thought it was real! But then Dewey said it was "touch and go" and I was saying "Yes! I knew Sid would not be defeated so easily!" Oh and true, a couple of more minutes added to the ending would have been nice :)

@MrFunnynate yes, there were rumors about it being in 3D. Dimension Films asked on twitter what fans thought about Scream 5 being in 3D. I think they are just getting feedback and fans opinions to see if they like the 3D idea :)
@horrorfan824 it is a bad idea because for me 3d doesent fitt in the scream series , 3d is good for fiction or action movies , look what they did with freddy is dead the final nightmare 3d , well , sure its only the last 15 minutes of the movie but is aweful , and fiday the 13th 3d other crap and final destination 4 anoter terrible 3d effect , well , for me , no way .
@MegaBatmanbeyond I know I don't like the 3D idea either. The Scream movies are not meant to be seen in 3D. Wes Craven doesn't like 3D either, his movie My Soul To Take was meant to be in 2D but the studio wanted it 3D. He had to convert it and did not like the process. But 3D does bring in more money and that is what the studio needs after Scream 4 performed poorly at the box office.

I will also go see Scream 5 in 3D or 2D because I love the franchise too much to not support it. I will also go on twitter and let Dimension Films know that we want Scream 5!
