Originally, the performance was intended by the organizers to have been completely mimed, however Matt managed to persuade the organizers to allow him to sing the vocals live. After tapping on the microphone, the backing track was cut, at which point Bellamy exclaimed "WOOAH!", after which it continued. However, Bellamy decided not to go on. He considered the event to be a farce. :)

there IS a video.. albeit very short but it does exsist. also this was a festival in Ipswitch in 2000. they were not drunk they were asked to mime.. they refused and matt ended up singing to the backing track and decided the take the piss a little. it really wound them up because the whole point of being on stage is to preform live. also dom and chris swapped places during it too.. just to prove the point further. :)
