  • Where are the subtitles when you ACTUALLY need them?!

  • When played backwards, Quincy Jones said, "I wish I could have taken those awards with me that night. I'll take Michael Jackson's awards in the future." And now you know the secret message embedded cleverly into this video. The truth comes out...lol

  • "I remember callakbababsha shbdbashbdahsb who wasjhahsnhanshbahbsanabs hbhasb das this ahsbdhas ooshcar basgbdbabs dbasbhbashbdgbhbasdttatstyasbhdbhasbd bashd bash dbah bdasbh bhbbashbdsa noooooooo bashdhahsdbbhbasdhb ahsbd absdgasbdb and he didn't go, i basdgbhasbhd [Long Pause] and pick the oscar for john and mccartney"

  • WTF are some commenters here going on about? It's fucking easy to hear what he's saying.

Typical of some people. Instead of making a slight effort to hear what someone like this, who's well-worth listening to, is saying, they take the time to complain because it isn't quite crystal clear. Idiots.

    Anyway, nice story and footage.

  • who have the oscar ? paul oh no ?

  • if he just opened his mouth a little more...

  • WHO THE HELL CARES ABOUT THESE STUPID AWARDS

NEVER CEASES TO AMAZE ME WHEN A BUNCH OF WHAT ARE SUPPOSED TO BE ADULTS..GO NUTS OVER A SILLY TROPHY

DO THE "WORK" AND "LET IT BE"

  • @fidedigno5 well said

  • "I have to get back to conduct the orchestra" that's the coolest thing you could say at the oscars, no wonder he's the most successful producer in history (with real musical talent)

  • @tonalpohualli

I don't think he is the most successful. I'd give that to the Beatles producer George Martin.

  • Let It Be was also a Grammy winner that year, here's Paul accepting from John Wayne. watch?v=U7kOkFIIYhE

  • What the hell is he saying

  • Let's all hope you never almost die from a brain tumor, OK?

  • I Remember going by the studio at 799 & 7th avenue. He (McCartney) was in the studio with Paul Silvermon?.I said "Paul you should show up for this Oscar event because you guys have a good shot at it & you could possibly get nominated and possibly win".And you know, Paul, we have a great relationship,"No Quincy you're not go'na talk me into nothing".I said "Look I don't care man, don't go" & he didn't go.That's the first year I had conducted the orchestra."The Beatles for Let it be".I had to put...

  • @atticusallstars "He was in the studio with [goes to say the wrong name] Paul...Phil Ramone..."

  • (Part 2) I had to put my baton down & go up & make a speach & pick up the oscar for Lennon & McCartney on Let it be. ("This is fantastic. I just wanted an excuse to get close to it & I wish that The Beatles were all here together tonight to receive this but I have to get back to conduct the orchestra. On their behalf, thank you very much".)We still laugh about it, You know.

  • seriously.....stroke??

  • i have no fucking idea

  • God bless me the opportunity in my life to meet this man twice!

To this day each year i get a christmas card hand signed from him every year and I am nobody special.

The man is a true gentleman and a real brother.

  • Love Quincy -- He has always been the gentleman people should look to for outstanding character

  • Love Quincy - Such a great talent - I wish all of the new producers could portray themselves as gentlemanly as he has thoughout his amazing career.

  • I cannot believe anyone could be so crass as to criticise the legendary Quincy Jones. This is a man who has worked with Spielberg, Sinatra, Lennon and McCartney, Miles Davis, Ella Fitzgerald, MIchael Jackson. This man is a GOD in the music world. Show some respect.

  • How people can be so mean? Quincy Jones is a great man! Thanks to him we had a chance to hear and have a world best selling album like Thriller by Michael Jackson, because he was working with him on that.

Everything what he touched turned to gold

  • This is really news to me, because I never knew that The Beatles had ever won an Oscar.

  • same here

  • I thought Paul accepted thsi award when it was presented by John Wayne ? Was that a different award show ?

  • that was for the grammy for orignal score for the let it be film

  • i can't understand him

  • Quincy Jones is about 80 years old isn't he. In the 60's or 70's I think he had a brain aneurism. People can be so hateful. I wonder what some of you will look and sound like at 80. you'll probably be dead.

  • no he is around the 70´s

  • what i meant to say, is that the beatles do odd things. i guess that's part of being genuis. they did make good music, and the world is blessed to have it for as long as it will be.

  • there is something odd about certain beatles. i know what it may be, but they do make beautiful music.

  • The Oscars should have an award for "Best Narration".

  • thats cool tht the orchestra is playing let it be.that would be awsome if they all came.

  • well 2 of them are dead

  • Not in 1971, they aren't.

  • You should live as long and be as well off!

  • barabas, are you the devil? This man is elderly but still brilliant and a legend!

  • that isn't an old dude, that is Quincy Jones

  • Quincy Jones is a Genious and he knows music.

  • "Genius" not GENIOUS

    fuckin hell you can't spell.

  • Wonderful memories! Also look at the hairstyle here...

  • is that shelly winters and jack nicholson presenting.

  • Shelley Winters and Glen Campbell.

  • Wow. Why didn't they give the Let it Be tapes to Q instead of Phil Spector -- might've changed history.

  • I think this had to be the greatest acceptance speech in Oscar history due to it's length of course!

  • QJ: what a great musician, arranger and person. Wish I could meet him in person one day. Wish he could write an arrangement just for me and let me be the singer with some great musicians ... dream on!

  • ;D 1 word i can say for this : beatles4ever

  • He is the most beautiful man in Hollywood.....

  • You are right. SOOOO hot! What he must look like naked melts the...mirrors.

  • He was FINE when he was young - and I bet he was trouble! Anyone who is a fan should check out "Listen Up: The Lives of Quincy Jones". He is an amazing talent!

  • Q is the man! He's saying that he told Paul McCartney to go to the Oscars and Paul didn't go and then the Beatles won! I would have loved to have seen the Beatles on stage at the Oscars!

  • can't understand what he's saying!!!

  • No I can't hahaha

  • me too!!! ha!

  • yeah, imagine me... anyway, quincy is a great guy and what a talented one!!!!
