  • great song sounds so much like lennon

  • para mi jhon lennon es el mejor cantaautor de todoslos siglos

  • Just discovered The Overtures and found this song, a real sense of the 60's and beautifully written. You should play it more often live.

  • i have been trying to find this video and now its on here thanks alot

  • These guys are so good celebrities like Paul McCartney, Dave Gilmour, and Elton John have asked them to play for them

  • I picked this song up today, from a charity shop for a quid. It's a 4 track CD single, the other songs are "Hole in the ground", "Velvet Room", and "Tinted Rose".

  • maybe there's some sound engineers in here? How hell can I get such a great delay for vocal? What type of delay is it? I really wanna get such kind of effect on my vocal.. please somebody =/

  • superb song why is it not in the charts these guys are brilliant

  • this is not a beatles song!

only john could write something like that.

    beatles songs were different.

i think this song is similar to "imagine".

i like that solo on rickenbacker 325

  • @glogi555555 It's a Rickenbacker 360-12, not a 325.

  • @glogi555555 this song sounds like a Lennon song, but was written by Dennis Pugsley in 1994 and is usng by him here.

In 1994 Den was commissioned to write two songs for Merlin's Beatles video ('Behind The Beat', 'In Spite Of All The Danger')

  • It's NOT the Lennon/McCartney song recorded by the early Beatles. They only borrowed the title, but the song is an original by the Overtures, though highly influenced by the '64-'65 (For Sale-era) Beatles. Great song, great sound. Can't seem to find more originals by the Overtures, but if they had an album, I'd surely buy it.

  • Dennis Pugsley, their lead singer/ bassist wrote this song and many other originals alone and with other bands including the bands: The Pencils and , The Green. In 1994 Den wrote 2 songs for Merlin's Beatles video ('Behind The Beat', 'In Spite Of All The Danger') and has a song featured in the Oscar nominated short film Killing Joe (Joy Films).

He has also composed The Overture's original material: Piccadilly Goodbye; Don't Wait Too Long; Hole In The Ground, Forever England and others.

  • I want to learn how to play it sooo much, but i can't find even lyrics to these or chords, it's an awesome and very underrated.

  • This version is way better than the original version. I think if the beatles re-recorded this in '65, it would have sounded just like this, but because it was an early, early beatle (quarrymen) song, it didn't sound as good. 12-string guitars were very popular in the mid 60's, and this version has that mid 60's beatle/byrds feel. This version could almost pass for a Byrds song.

  • @hopop313 it's no the same song paul and george wrote in the late 50's.. lennon wrote this song in the late 70's... the name is the same but it's not the same song at all

  • This is my favorite non-John Lennon John Lennon song.

  • @josenros Its such a great tribute to John. I really like this song too!

  • Man, I searched this song long and hard. So Beatlesque - sounds almost like an authentic, unissued Lennon-McCartney number

  • @marcoamedrano its not a Beatles song/ it was written and performed by Dennis Pugsley in 1994

  • @4WingedBeatlez Yes, thanks. Im aware its not one, but its a wonderful tribute song.

  • i thought this song was sung by the beatles. haha.

  • Finally tracked you down. Great song, guys.

  • Beautiful song!!! Beautiful lyrics!!! I love this band!!!!

I need one of their songs called "Tinted Rose"... If anybody has any idea of it, i'll be thankful

  • This is the mysterious song from the Beatles documentary ("Beatles the Journey")!! I've been looking all over for it!

It's a beautiful song, it has a good feeling to it. So glad I found it! :D

  • @NewBornVampiire me too !! I couldn't find it anywhere but i really liked it

  • This is just awesome.

  • This song is so beautiful . and the overtures are the best x

  • these guys are great

  • @Brommers2you duh, it's a lennon cover.

  • no not a lennon cover... as far as i know... there is a early Beatle song by the same name ...

  • No!!...there is a song with the same title but totally different. This is an original that can be found on the Cd "Why dont we do it...at Abbey Road".

  • yes i agree... this song is written by Dennis Pugsley, i do believe... very Beatle like...
