It's so weird. Whenever I see a Bela Lugosi movie even if it is astonishingly bad on it's own I never really hate it. That's probably because I have such respect for the man himself for his dedication to acting no matter how silly the role, and yet he always did well himself given the material. First time I saw this I actually thought it was somewhat decent. Looking at it nowadays it's completely idiotic, but that's not because of Lugosi just the material. A truely gifted actor he was. R.I.P.
