  • omg what happen to u??? ur so dark after i watch it ur last video

  • Hi Lisa !do you prefer ss197 over sephora one ? and then what is deffrerence? thanks

  • @drmaryam28 the 197 or now called F80 is by far my fav! It is dense and so easy to apply with.

  • im so glad i just found this video! you've sold me on this brush. i usually like my 187, but yes, it takes too long to put on!! im def getting this ASAP. and yes...studio sculpt is a bia to put on.

  • Just got this brush it was about i think (I got mine for $34 at sephora) and i love it!!!! I use it with the Tarte tinted moisterizer and a powder and it does distribute it evenly and it was a GREAT PRICE!!! LOVE LOVE THIS BRUSH!

  • Just got this brush it was about i think ($36,not over 40$ at sephora) and i love it!!!! I use it with the Tarte tinted moisterizer and it does distribute it evenly and it was a GREAT PRICE!!!

  • Do you think this would work well with cream foundations or setting powders?

  • @xosephoralovexo no the bristles are not dense enought for those products

  • Is it possible to use liquid foundation with this brush? Or just powder?

  • @lilylegs I only use it for liquid!

  • @lilylegs

    the sephora professional platinum line has several other brushes similar to the #55 that are specifically for powder. i don't own any large powder brushes for the face from this line but i have a lot of shadow brushes and i love them all!!! very high quality

  • @lilylegs you can use it with bronzer and blush and powder it works great!!!

  • Hi Lisa...i use Studio Scultpt. Whats your favourite brush to apply it?

  • @jayjayfabs I prefer my fingers of the sigma F80

  • I just saw one of your newer videos and then came across this one. Please, whether it be the foundation, fake tan, whatever, don't go back to this look! It looks horrendous! You're beautiful with your natural fairer skin!!

  • Hi Lisa, could you do a review of the SS197? Thanks!

  • @Pescaicho I do have a review comparison coming up on this soon!

  • @Lisasz09 Great great, thanks!!!

  • its actually only $34 :)

  • this review helped alot!!! thanks

  • Lisa, i know this vid is kinda old but i hope you read this, i use MUFE Mat velvet + and i want to know if u would suggest applying it with the beauty blender or this #55 brush?? The Sales associate was trying to get me to buy this brush but i use the BB for all my foundations but i dont know about this new foundation.

  • @MyPiNkOnReD I like it with the BB or the Sigma SS197 (now the F70 or 80) I dont like it with the sephora brush at all!

  • Do you find you can work foundation into the skin very well with this brush like you can with a paddle brush? Or do you find it sits on top of the skin

  • @aTayles for that I would suggest the Sigma (SS197) now the F70 or 80! Great for buffing foundation and making it seemless- I use it in my foundation tutorial!

  • eeek! caked on face is the worst

  • wtfff i got scared looking at how dark u are in this video compared to your recent videos O_O it looks lik u got dirt on your face while in your recent videos your so pretty that i cant my eyes of off you :|

  • lol "It does not work with Studio Sculpt guys, I've just decided no brush works with Studio Sculpt, doesn't matter."

  • @swtsassypnay it is amazing with the liquid founadtions! :o)

  • Coo review girlie I'm a collector of brushes and I gotta go get that one my moto is u can't have enough brushes so keep buyin dem lol stay sweet ;)

  • Sad.

    I want the ss197 but I have a gift card for sephora and I'm very low on money, so I'm going to end up wasting, but saving money by buying the sephora brush with my gift card over the sigma.

  • I just bought Dior Nude foundation. Is the Sephora #55 brush or Sigma ss197 brush better for Dior Nude foundation? I want to say I love your reviews!

  • I would say the SS197! It is amazing!

  • Thank you! I 've just ordered the sigma 197 brush.

    is there a review/tutorial on this product? I have never used this kind of brush for my foundation application. ;-/

  • There is a tutorial by MakeupbyTiffanyd on Sigmas YT page and on their brush page on their site also! :o)

  • I got this brush today and I can't wait to try it tomorrow!!!!!!!

  • In your another video, you recommended to use a sigma brush for applying liquid foundation.

    I want to get a new foundation brush, which one should I get?

    By the way, I use finger to apply my liquid foundation.

    And I have one more question.

    I have a sensitive dry skin. Is shishedo sun protection foundation suitable for my skin type?

  • I would say the sigma one by far! :o) the shesido can be use with any skintype! :o)

  • yes I have but since the sigma SS197 is a much better choice and cheaper too!

  • This review was sooooo helpful. exactly what i was looking for. thank you sooo much. I was reading up on makeupalley reviews on this brush, and someone said that it was very similar to the ecotools blush brush (from walgreens/target) but thats only $8. What do u think???

  • I dont think the eco tools are anything like the Sephora one, but I will say a great less expecnsive option is the sigma SS197! :o)

  • I bought this today. I saw so many positive reviews. A little pricey, but I hope it's a gem.

  • i read the comments after watching the video and i'm so glad to hear it works with the diorskin nude! I will definitely be buying this brush! it sounds PERFECT! thanks for the great review!

    just subscribed :)

  • lmao I bought this brush and havent used it yet thanks for this review!

  • When I bought it & first used it, I felt my 187 brush worked better. But the other day I tried it again & omg, I was in love with it. This is def my HG brush now =)

  • Hey Lisa! Thanks for this review! I went and got this brush and love it! It's kinda like the 182 and 109 in one. This brush has definitely made me switch back to liquid foundation. I just loved applying my mineral foundation with a kabuki and not getting my hands dirty so this is an awesome brush!

  • I love watching your reviews on different make up products. I always watch your review first, then decide if I really want to buy the product or not. Thank you for being honest with your reviews! I just subscribed =)

  • I purchased this brush a few days ago on your recommendation, and I love it! I used to use my MAC 188 for foundation but this brush is totally a step up. I was just wondering if you have tried this brush with Studio Tech Foundation with Fix+? If so, what do you think of it? Does it work, or is the foundation to thick for it? Thanks! Great video!

  • I have not tried it with teh Tech- I am not sure how it would work since the 187 is flat and gets more product form a pan one than the 55 would. I will have to give that a try! :o)

  • I was just wondering, what is the difference between the sephora #55 airbrush and the #44 stippling brush? Which is better? Thanks!

  • I have not tried the 44 brush yet! I love my 55 though! :o)

  • Thanks, I think I might get it! I think the 44 is like the mac 187, do you like stippling brushes?

  • I like them but I use them for blush not for foundation! I dont have the patience to use them for foundation! :o(

  • lol thanks alot for the advice :)

  • Hi Lisa! I was wondering which brush would you most prefer/recommend when applying liquid foundation? The Sephora Professional Airbrush #55 or the Mac 187? Also, does this brush work with the Diorskin Nude?

  • I would suggest the spehora 55 by far over the 187. I love it and yes it does work for the Dior Nude! :o) Yay!

  • Does this work with the Estee Lauder Max Coverage?

  • I have not tried it with that foundation yet- I will try it soon and let you know!

  • I tried it today and it works great with it! :o)

  • Thank you so much Lisa for getting back to me. You are too kind. I am going to order this brush. I love all your videos. :)

  • hii, can i ask where do you get that blue brush, shown toward the end of your vid. The one where its thin ontop and thick at the bottom

    thx

    x

  • I dont have a blue brush- what did I call it? Or what is the video time that i show it and I will let you know what brush it is!

  • lol sorry, i ment the blue SPONGE. hehe

    thx

    x

  • it is a sonya kasuk from target- I think they are purple now! :o)

  • I love this brush too.. I've been using it as my everyday brush... for my powders and blushers.. Love it!!!

  • its $34 i got it on monday this week and it is really awsome <333

  • Luv your vids! I want to try that brush but i'm a fan of the blending sponge and not crazy about brushes, so i probably shouldn't spend the money on trying it out! Thanks

  • do you use the powder brush by them??? the #50... also do you think these brushes beat out macs??

  • I have not tried their powder brush- just a blush brush before! I prefer MAC other than this brush!

  • can I suggest to anyone that has a problem seeing the swirl marks after using your 187, there may just be to much product on the brush. I use it w/ most liquids- applying it in a stipple first, then lightly swirling to blend the stipple a bit. I never feel like I see brush pattern after that.

  • it's so expensive :S

  • Hi Lisa~I've always just used my fingers for foundation, I once used on of those flat foundation brushes and got a bad result. I have a synthetic brush from ecotools (inexpensive) from Ulta. It's a brush for powder, and I used it today to apply foundation and it works like a dream! I use Estee Lauder Double Wear, and it's a little thick, and it takes time to blend, and when I used this brush it went on quickly, too! Thanks for the suggestion about using a brush!!!

  • Thanx for this review i've been wanting to get this brush everytime i go 2 Sephora but i was undecided ..!!!!!

  • Hey Lisa! Great vids and reviews. Could you compare the Too Faced Retractable Kabuki, MUFE HD Kabuki and the MAC 182 Buffer Brush? Like which is softer, the density, powder application and reaction to washing. It would be very helpful! Thanks!

  • sorry i only won the 182- I dont own any of the others so I cant compare them! :o(

  • Thanks anyways! Could you give me an overall rating of the 182 please? I am planning to buy a Kabuki and am wondering whether the quality of the brush is good, because of the price.

  • I love my 182 it is one of my favorite brushes!

  • I own this brush too! I'm a fan!

  • Love your reviews, i think your very thorough. One tip i have is maybe you should go a few shades lighter in your foundation or maybe go use less fake tan. The dark makes your skin look a little blotchy and dark around your mouth and nose. Lighter foundation will give you a more clean look.

  • ah! you're such an enabler! lol. now i got to go get it. lol. i use my NYX foundation brush and it works ok but i want a more flawaless applicatio brush that wont use as much product like the foundation brush does. ugh. i want to try it now. do you know if sephora will let you return the brush???

  • Check their website's return policy. I believe that all Sephora items have a 60-day return period.

  • you can return to sephora! :o)

  • awsome. thanks for getting back to me!

  • Can you do a review on MAC studio tech foundation

  • I do have it on my list to review!

  • I did a review on this brush as well and I love it!!

  • I have that brush,I love it.

  • ooo i am so tempted to buy this now.... thanx for sharing :)

  • Lisa, do you own the Raquel Welch MAC 169 LE synthetic angled brush? If so, what is your opinion & how do you use it? I was lucky enough to find it still on the shelf in my local MAC store (it came out in 2005) & bought it, but was so iffy about whether it was a must have or not that I returned it. Don't know if I'm having returning regrets.

  • sorry I dont own the RW 169 brush! Sorry I wish i could help!

  • Can you do a tutorial on your face routine with this brush?? If you havn't already =)

    Ahh I want that brushh now! =D

  • sorry I dont do tutorials! :o(

  • cool i actually ordered this brush today! Let u know how i like it! Thanks girl

  • I love mine! I bought it right after your haul. Thanks!

  • I love the way you say *"Bye!"* at the end of all your videos, it's so perky!

  • hi lisa ummm i got this brush and the 109 at the same time....but i found that this brush is kinda flimsy...dont get me wrong i like it but i tried to do a comparison on both the 109 and this one and i still dont know which one is better cause i used the 109 first and it SHED like mad! so i returned it...so in ur opinion the 109 and this one gives the same results???

  • they are very simmilar results without the shedding! :o)

  • can you do a foundation application with that brush?

    :]

  • sorry i dont do tutorials!  :o(

  • Lol I don't blame you. I've tried to before, they're a pain! Love your vids =D

  • I agree with you, Lisa. I feel like I use way too much product when I use my fingers. I've tried the 190, but didn't love it. I just haven't got the time for the 187. So, maybe THIS is the one. Thank you for another GREAT review! You're the BEST!

  • Hi Lisa, I LOVE your reviews! I am 30 years old and have never ever used a brush for foundation, but I've been wanting to get one for some time. I've considered all the brushes you've mentioned and also am considering the Cover FX #160 Brush. For a foundation brush virgin, which of the ones you've mentioned do you suggest? I'm going to get the courage one of these days to start making videos. You all have created such a great community and I love you all so much, I'd love to be part of it!

  • I have not tried teh cover fx brush, but for beginners the ones that are like paint brushes are the easiest to use- I would say this one is the 2nd easiest! Enjoy!

  • Woah...is it just the camera and lighting, or are you really THAT dark in real life??

  • sonia kashuk synthetic flat blusher brush is good for foundations too.

  • That brush looks cool!

  • thanks a bunch!

    i will check out this brush on my next trip

    at sephora!

    oh and the brush is 34 dollars.

    :D

  • how much is it ?

  • please check the sephora website for pricing! :o)

  • Your reviews are so helpful Lisa, Thanks.

  • great review

  • You may want to try E.L.F.'s Studio Line Powder Brush to apply liquid foundation. I know this brush is super cheap ($3) but it works miracles!!!

    Thanks, as always, for your honest reveiw and great videos. Be blessed.

  • great tip! Thanks!

  • Lisa, did you try using the brush damp?

    thanks for the review! right now I use my MAC 180 (dampened) for foundation application, but this one looks really cool and I might consider buying it in the future.

  • I use the brush dry- I have never used it damp!

  • have you done a L'Oreal telescopic explosion review?

    if not,please do for me

    thnaks

  • I have and it is posted on my chanel! :o) Enjoy!

  • I am torn with this brush, Lisa. I went to Sephora and saw it in person, but felt that it wasn't dense enough. Did you ever use the 183 long handle kabuki? It works great and I think it gives the same effect as this brush. Also,did you ever use the 187 just stippling without swirling. If you take the time, it gives an amazing effect. I will let you know my results if I get the Sephora brush.

  • I have the 181 that is similar, bit I do not have the 183. I have used the 187 just stippling- it is just way to much work for me! :oP

  • I need that brush!

  • Your 187 looks so amazingly clean and white!!! What do you use to clean it? No matter how much I clean mine its always stained!

  • haha- I use mac brush cleaner on it after every use and then I use the baby shampoo on it every week! :o)

  • do you think this brush would work well with studio fix powder

  • no I dont think it will work with pwder very well! :o(

  • I am jealous of the nails : p but I am not gonna do enhancements for quite a while on mine.

  • how do u tan

  • self tanner and I have a whole video overview on how I use it! :o)

  • Hi Lisa, fantastic review :) Where did you get the Telescopic Explosion mascara from? ALso, I went to Sephora this week and I am in heart with the MUFE black acqua creme liner. Its actually pretty good :) Also fell in love with the Sephora bronzer blush. Do you know if it's similar or better than the NARS Bronze brush? Thanks and stay well :)

  • I got it from a friend in the UK. I do not have the sephora or the NARS ones! Sorry!

  • Great review, like always!!!

    I'd like you to show us how you apply your foundation with the 187 and with this sephora brush...if you have time to it,lol!!!

    thanksss

    xoxo

  • sorry I dont do tutorials! :o(

  • oh geez 45 bucks huh - i better start saving up

  • great review!!! i think i heard pinkiecharm talk about it too.

    i forgot but love your videos!! and dang, your getting super tan.

    :)

  • I'm sooooooooo getting this brush!

  • Lisa, try a reg wedge sponge for StudioSculp foundation.

  • yes, that is the only thing that works for studiosculpt, that and fingers :/

  • Love your review. could you do an foundation application tuturiol with your brush?? I use my fingers and am intimidated with foundation brushes. thanks xoxo

  • sorry I dont do tutorials- but I do have a foundation routine video that may help you! Enjoy!

  • Is your hair darker or am i going crazy lol anyway looks lovely thank you for this review :) XX

  • I bought this brush about a month ago and I really like it too. I have only used it a few times but it covers evenly using little product. It cleans easily and dries fast. Thanks for reviewing it--I haven't read much on it anywhere else.

  • Thanks for another great video!!! You must have a really food camera, because your videos come out so clear!!

  • Great review Lisa! I will probably get this because I luv brushes. How do you feel about the silver look vs. black on the handle?

  • I dont mind the silver but I wish the base of them was thicker- since they are thinner they dont stand up in my holder as well! :o(

  • haha i went on Sephora to check this brush out.. and its on the frount page now for $34 =)

  • i have 187,i am disappointed....i love to use my hand,i have seen it in liza also...i might get tht one.

  • Very honest review Lisa. I was wondering if you could do a video on the best ways to pick out a drug store foundation!

  • great review! this brush looks a lot like Laura Geller's retractable brush with the new white synthetic bristles. Do you think I could use it for foundation?

  • you can always try it and if it doesnt work then you can wash the brush and go back to whatever you used it for! :o)

  • I don't know what you did differently w/ your makeup today but your eyes look very nice, it's the upper lashline eyeliner or mascara, looks very nice! What is it?

    Great review, thank you!

  • haha, oops never mind ::duh read the sidebar!::

    LOL

  • i think its the mac white fascinating eye kohl on the waterline

  • I like to use my handy kabuki brush from Bare Essentials and, Im pretty happy with it.ALways open to trying new things but, my my that brush is outta my price range lol Thanks for the awesome review as always!

  • Does your handy buki for BE shed? Mine sheds like hell. I've had it for about 4 months and it keeps getting worse. I had to stop using it because there would be so much hair on my face every single time.

  • today was the 1st time i used a brush for foundation and then i came into theoffice and i seen your video i really like the brush i was using this morning but like you said i was getting lil bristles on my face so i might invest in this brush..

    ~~~ REQUEST ~~~
    What are the must have brushes for eyes and face cheap or costly i guess if you can do a review for cheap brushes and one for the higher lines. Thank you
  • agree....I would love a review on the best low-end brushes =)
  • I have triedlots of different lower end brushes but MAC ones are the best for the money and will last forever! :o)
  • Another great review Lisa! :)
  • great review. what do you think about loreal explosion mascara? i saw that you are wearing it.
  • I just posted a reviewo n that mascara! Enjoy!
  • Great review thanks! I saw on theSephora website that this is synthetic Taklon bristles (as you said) - and I saw on the Coastal scents site some comparable synthetic brushes. Do you think ther can compare - for example the new Synthetic Buffer brush Large? :) Thanks!
  • i am not sure i will have to look in to that one! It would be great if it was similar! :o) Thanks for teh tip!
  • ye, wayne (gossmakeupartist) did say studio sculpt can't be used with any brush, since it's a gel(?) so no synthetic brush would do it. so he only recommends it with fingers ;)
  • I agree!! I do the same thing with the brush cleaner & the P. towel--I rub it clean every time, but shampoo it every 3-5 days. I think it's really good for med to full coverage foundations because you get the coverage, but not the heaviness of it--good job explaining--perfectly put!! :) Lisa
  • oh going to mall today will be looking at this brush and the dior foundation too...thanks..=)
  • I was just looking at this brush yesterday. I use my fingers and I feel that it doesn't cover the way it should. I think I'll try it.
  • Good review once again Lisa! This brush sounds like a good investment. (=
  • i am going to go get it today lol u sold it to me (: 34 bucks is worth having a flawless face !
