I love footy, not from vic, nsw actually, but this was when footy was footy.
2:47 Michael Conlon the human bulldozer. 0:56 Billy Duckworth throws the mouthguard away, 1:40 Robbie "Mad Dog" Muir. Brillant. Aussie who was the umpire that he was remenstrating with.
@Prime4571 i agree. you don't see alot of bursting through the packs these days, decent hip and shoulders and a decent biff or 2. i watch this little vid and say damn footy is changing and not for the better. they changed it because they want to make it more of a business.
go straight to 2:50 and watch timmy watson '32' for the bombers get absolutely fuckin ironed out- this was a time when aussie rules was a mans game! A straight mans game!!! Viva la Rugby (Both)
These were the day's when football was really footy! Teams had a home ground advantage back then with the likes of Vicoria Park & Windy Hill etc, it was more interesting . Football in 2008 is a joke , the defender touch's the guy in the back it's free kick. Hall doesn't even connect with Waklein and the shrink decides his shouldn't play, what rubbish, most of the things psycologists say are crap .
This is the clip that got Australia interested in the game. Being from Queensland, I had honestly never seen it and those blokes in tight shorts jumping so high.. had me from the get go.
Brilliant. The greatest footy/music clip there ever was.
Every player/fan under 30 should be sat down and made to watch this. The golden era of footy, action, flair, characters, Jacko...., tough , uncompromised footy the way it should always have been played. Anyone got Demetriou's email address? He REALLY needs to see this.
arr don't tempt me to fill that dictators emails with spam & virus filled links.
How's his pathetic excuse for having that $400,000 pay rise bwahahaha ...so it's a deterant to be poached from another code within Australia - P..leeeaaase
this tool is just so out of touch with the peoples game, such a arrogant dictator - Can't he be sacked by the people ? is he protected - how can this keep going like this ? ..wished he was Fixed up to be honest.
aussieaussieaussie, oioioi....pretty impressive. I, along with my brother, have been looking for this type of stuff for years. Channel 7 tell us they haven't got it anymore.
I too have a large collection of both tv footage and memorabilia. I have only just started converting to DVD, and have no intention of loading on to this.
Hello Brad, I have around 1,000 hours of VFL footage from the 1980's. This includes a number of Channel 7 promos from Up There Cazaly (1979) onwards. I intend to dig them all out at some stage and upload them.
I can make a copy on DVD but as I am always looking to get more VFL footage I would prefer to trade rather than sell.
If you have any VFL footage for trade please contact me via messages and I will get in touch.
Thanks Aussie, another good one, Pity the don't play footy like they used to anymore. For all the slick marketing, big money and spin doctoring, a game in name only!

I've never seen a montage of so many elbows to the face!
They were some rough bastards back in those days. I'm not an AFL fan, but this makes me want to watch a few scrappy bush league games.
