  • Going to barber shop in foreign country is really scary. I felt the same thing in US. It's hard to describe how much you want to be cut.

  • "it's lonely, if it is alone..." WTF!? xD

  • nice advice

tadplay com - lots of cool casual games for you

  • Hey thanks for the advice. I can use that advice right here in Costa Mesa, CA - USA!

  • Comment removed

  • lmao so true

  • XD AWE, the puppy XD

  • Hi~Welcome to Jeonju city. KOREA

  • japan

  • Another suggestion on getting a good haircut is to go to any of the many US military bases in SK or Japan. Of course you cant get entrance to the base if you are not in the military. But the shops just outside the base cater to the servicemembers and they speak good english.

  • I don't know about you Kev, but Americans, I know you are a Canadian, don't have much of a style. Crew cut or fade. Europe a dif story.

However, when I see Korean and Japanese guys with too long hair, I wanna murder them. I think the trend ought to change here to a professional and clean hairstyle.

lil fashion is cool but growing it like a girl is not.

  • 그건 니생각이고 thats your personal thoughts

  • make us a video and show us your style! I'd like to see what you look like!

  • Dear Kevin, Korea is a small country overshadowed by Japan and China, what, between these two cultural moguls, made Korea stand out for you and be attracted to the country??

  • free airfare and rent

  • @SebastienLoong that we are not commies, or imperialistic, and nationalistic people? maybe, idk, just throwing it out there.

  • that depends on what you think is too long. i think VERY short hair looks like crap. but that depends on how the person's face is...there are men who look good with long or short hair. what do you mean by long hair? like the super junior members' hairstyles? those are short...its not bad unless it goes past the shoulders and its cut like crap.

  • wow what a fucking psycho. you want to murder someone over HAIR? get proffessional help dude. seriously.

  • i'd actually like to let the korean barbers make my hairstyle. i personlally love korean fashion

  • Korean fashion isn't for me. Besides....I don't have enough hair to "style" even if I wanted too!! hehe

  • I guess It's because Korean fashion is more like European. Not like American

  • not really.

  • fashion is for everyone... no matter how tall you are or whatsoever, LOL!... try it and ull like it for sure.

  • I restorted to cutting my own hair with a shaver and a mirror when I was in Japan. It wasn't the best style-wise, but it got the job done! :)

  • This is cool and good advice even if you're in your 'native country'. I have had so many problems getting my eyebrows the shape I want them. No matter how many ways I described it, a photo of the desired result works the best!

  • Are you man that those his eyebrows?

    Wow.

  • go to the old style barbers, the ones with the old fashioned swirling pole outside. for about $15 US you can get a haircut, razor shave with hot towels and a 1 minute shoulder pounding massage. stay away from the trendy boutiques and go old school

  • It never occurred to me to use a photo of myself! Even after going to salons that lend you magazines and folders full of model photos.

Haircuts in Japan were like throwing dice for me as well. After trying to tell the stylist that I just wanted a slight trim with bangs, I ended up with a very different pageboy look, which actually didn't look bad. One suggestion I have is to try to find a barber or stylist with a sense for creating a good look for you, and it shouldn't matter what they do.

  • Good advice. Luckily, for me, I'm a balding guy who likes short hair so these days things normally work out for me fairly easily when Igo to a new salon or barber ;)

  • it is lonely when its alone ... lol XD ,

anyway i'd love to go to japan, realy intrested in there culture , Thnx 4 sharing :)

  • it is! Thanks for watching:)

  • Haha, I took my digital camera and it turned out aight...I give my haircut a 3.3 out of 5 lol.

Good advice though fo sho. Also we are in korea now, Thanks for all your advice in my previous pm. We are in Haeundae! yay!

  • Awesome stuff! That's my old hood. I lived in Jangsan in Haeundae. Loved drinking beer at the beach in the Spring and Summer :)

  • hahahahahahah it is lonely if it is lonely. funny japs :P

  • haha i've wondered how you deal with that problem.

  • Louisbourg!

  • As in Fortress of Louisbourg?

Hey I've been there. Small world :)

  • That's the one! I used to be a drummer at that place :)

  • LOL I agree with u!!! Visit hair shop with the picture just u wanna be like if u dont speak Korean !!!! OR....well ..u'll realize what 'Disaster' Kevin said is!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHAHA....I'm even Korean. but still I feel I gotta do tht..! looks like u'r in Japan now. anyway wherever u r, I hope u hav good time :)

  • heya, do u hav any picture about DISASTeR CuT?

  • I might....I'd have to search for it. That was probably before I had a digital camera!

  • Dhaha your pretty funny dude.. I had the same problem with getting my haircut in Taiwan.. They completely butchered my head..

  • I think that regardless of language, when getting a haircut or style you should bring a picture of what you want or similar to what you want. (I'm from Canada too) and when I ask for a haircut they suggest that I bring in a picture.

  • lol i love u busan kevin

    have u been to Busan?

doens that fish odor bothers u?

cuz my friends are whites and i brought them to Busan and they couldnt even get close to the fish market.

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • Thanks! I grew up in a small fishing town in Canada....the smell of fish is no problem for me. Actually..I'll be visiting Busan next month :)

  • What small fishing town is that. I live in Nova Scotia so maybe i've heard of it. haha

  • 뭐지 이건??? 머리 스타일에 대해서 말하는건가!! ???

  • just as a matter of interest.. this came up on my head while watching this video, dont people look at you in confusion when your walking down the street with a camera towards you? lol.

  • Yep.....they absolutely do! When I first began vlogging I was self conscience about it, now....I never care. I assume that they assume I'm just a tourist!

  • of hair...so i think it is same every where..but do understand..because of lanugage differences..its quite risky to go into shop and have it done whatever you ask for...sometimes they have there own trends going on at certain period of time..so they would just cut it the way they do as trend...or...just simple cuts..

    but..its quite informative video..kevin.. :)

  • That's a very good point! I suppose often you may just get the current popular style :)

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment.

  • should research a lot through people (the result of their hair cut you should ask where they have it done...)and... or bring pics....because...after i moved into denver..i surely...afraid to go to any hair shops around here....;; compared to big states like california or new york...(ive came from cali..) its hard to find good hair cut places..some are good at cutting, stying, perm.... every where has different skills...not all shops are good at all stying

  • i think thats to any country or any where place in united states, cities..if you are new to certain hair shop..i think you

  • Ye i thought about the whole picture concept as well. But, its that time in my life where the genes kick u in the ass even harder so i got a receding hairline from one side, and hair thinning from the other side of the family, so its bye bye to my thick, spiky hair and hello gradual baldness, which sucks even more cos i don't even have a proper head shape for a shaved look -_- Gotta love it.

  • I too am constantly growing a larger forehead! I suppose I can't fight the inevitable too!

  • woo hoo yeah!

  • hmmm. Well my hair is about 1/8 an inch anyway... I guess if they mess up I'll be looking like Mr. Clean, minus the earring

  • Great video!!!! I'm leaving on the 28th for Incheon!!!...I'm sooooooo cautious about my hair...Nothing crazy, its essentially a crew cut but sometimes when its not cut the exact way i want it...it'll ruin my entire time until the next haircut!!! Very helpful~

  • Glad it was useful! Thanks for watching :)

  • niicee! that was well done... it just reminds me of how much i really like these charcaters and how much they bring to the table with there plots haha sounds corny but just watch it.

  • i feel like i need to do that sometimes in the states

  • hehe...I know what you mean :)

  • What would you say I should do, Kevin? My haircut, for a long time now has been a buzzcut, all around the same length, bout a half-inch when cut or so.

  • If it is not lonely, then it is not alone?

  • exactly!? I don't think anyone will ever know the meaning of that!

  • If it comes out bad, cut it all off! hehe.

  • true nuff! A barber once told me, for men, the difference between a good haircut and a bad one is two weeks! I agree...if it looks bad...shave it!

  • I used the same tactic when I was teaching in China lol.

  • cool...good to see that I'm not alone....

  • "It is lonely, if it is alone"

Very very deep. I am going to ponder that for a few hours...

    ;-p

  • If you figure it out, please let me know!

  • btw....this video was in no way meant to insult you or Elevencolors....:)

  • Never saw it as one my friend. No worries!

  • hehe..I loved Elevencolor's response! That made my morning :)

  • Me neither! :-D

  • Loved the ending!

  • I'm still pondering the meaning....can't seem to figure it out just yet though :)

  • Interesting! :-)

  • Your videos always offer a sweet respite. I have to get a digital camera so I can learn how to make shorts too and upload them to YouTube. Keep it up, where ever you are. Oh, and congratulations on the new marriage in Japan. Have a great year!

  • thanks a lot. Please....do get a camera and start You Tubing!

  • and could I bring my hair dryer/straightener along and get an adapter of some sort?

  • It is cheaper to get adapters in Canada and bring them with you. But be sure to get the correct adapter for the specific country...

  • yep...Kansai PJ is right too....cheaper to buy an adapter back home!

  • thank you! good advice! What about outlets like plug-ins? Is it like usa/canada or european or totally different?

  • Japan is the same as Canada/USA...slightly lower voltage, but no converter needed. Korea has their own completely different size and are 220volts.....you'll need a converter or adapter

  • you now what kevin...thats a really good idea..well see im afro american so im use the black barber shops in the states ...you know we just shout out low taper...or blad fade edge it up! clean the face! I dont think they seen much of my hair...although they do love hip hop and R&B over there in japan so who knows!

  • LOVED the puppy card at the end, VERY Zen! LOL!

  • It was a very calming moment! :)

  • So do the people around there bring pictures as well? I never found it a popular practice in the states to bring pictures.

  • Of course they don't....cause they can speak the language......this is all about people who can"t speak the language :)

  • Someone once asked me for help with their Japanese when getting a haircut, thinking I could help because I know the language.

    BIG BIG MISTAKE. Heh.

  • no, girls in the states bring pictures often. They are usually celebrity pictures they bring lol. Like if they want Angelina Jolies hair.... etc ahah.

but yea, it's mostly for people who can't communicate. :)

  • I should bring Angelia Jolie's picture and see what the barber does to me :) hehe
