I'll have to agree with Cryenne. Some of the art displayed in this video is only there because of the artist statement. In other words: if the artist never wrote an artist statement, it wouldn't be in the MOMA. At this point, I am really confused about Modern Art - it has no rhythm. Anyone have any suggestions?
I can appreciate modern photography but what's up with modern day paintings they totally suck some of these look like they have been painted by 12 year olds and are worth over 1000$ insane
Well yes to a extent though. Modern art is rare and can be mistaken with any kind of unprofessional art doing, but its not only images, art encompasses aesthetics, history, literature, psychology. You can find many interesting things in a painting, only of course in the eye of the literate.
I'm sorry but most of that shit was far from art. Anything now-days is classed as art. A guy could throw a bucket at a canvas, and straight away its art, and up in the £1000's to buy.
(and no offense but what was with the music)! Dude seriously! Reality check! I had to put it to silence it was depressing!
Clearly you have a very very narrow mind. My guess is that you colored within the lines last year when you were in kindergarten. I am sure you colored your flowers red and your grass green. The world has so much to offer if you open your mind and expand your vistas
You know, I've been to a museum for modern art today, and I just can't understand why a completely white drawing with a white boa hanging in the middle of it can be called art. Maybe I am narrow minded, but I think nowadays we call something art too quickly. Maybe it's because of non-artists and they tell the artists they have to re-invent themselves or come with something new; don't understand me wrong, I do like modern art, but it's so spread out.. can anyone help me to understand modern art?
The sculpture with the ants is by Salvador Dali. The sculpture itself is a manikin for a hat shop and the extremely realistic ants were painted on! This is a very creative effort, but technical problems exist. What camera did you use? I specialize in this type of work and I can provide you with assistance if you wish.
I went there on Wednesday just gone, absolutely fantastic!! was in awe of so much of the work there. In particular Julie Mehretu and Cy Twombly-amazing!!
I have a dog lying at my feet .. thank u for reminding me there is culture in AMERICA its ever so important ... Just moved from Ireland .... image imagination ...
used to think that....until I went to this and other Modern art mueseums. Sure, some of it is "The Emperor's New Clothes" but there is so much that is beautiful, interesting and stimulating. Expand your mind!!
Why, Harry Chapin, of course! You know, the fella warbling in the background? ;-) I'm a huge fan and am always on the lookout for more vids to share via my Playlists. I endorse your own advice to the other poster. The "Greatest Stories Live" album is a perfect intro to Harry (might want to skip the depressing "The Shortest Story", though), and his other live album, "Legends of the Lost and Found", is a MUST hear if you can find it.
"Flowers are Red" by Harry Chapin. If you don't know the songs and stories by Harry Chapin, consider yourself introduced!!! He has so many amazing story songs. I urge you to explore!! Get his Greatest Stories Live album and you will not be disappointed!
Does anyone know the title/artist's name for artwork @ 2:14 (with French writings on the left & figure on the right)? Thanks.

i like the message of this song.
i remember my art teacher calling home because i was drawing giant snowflakes and i wouldn't listen to her when she told me not to.
my mom thought it was quite funny she would take her time to call home about something like that.

I don't know, and this is a complete guess, but the style reminds me of Rene Margritte somehow.
