Thanks for the great footage! The pressure wave visible in the steam before each explosion is impressive - reminds me of Eyjafjallajokull's Strombolian phase last year.

I have a postgraduate course at Sakurajima Volcano Observatory (operated by Kyoto University (coming up from later this year and I'm excited! I'm already considering this my pet volcano! :)
