Man I miss the days of bands like the Killjoys, Thrush Hermit, Doughboys, Pluto, Sloan, Inbreds, Punchbuggy, treble charger (pre-American Psycho era!), Super Friendz, The Odds, 13 Engines, Eric's Trip, Hardship Post, et al...Canada had a really good indie/power pop/punk scene in the 90's. Someone really needs to document/compile stuff like this into a nice mini-box set (like Nuggets/Children of Nuggets).
saw these guys at the el mocambo in the late 90's with japanese band zoobombs opening. the place was packed for the openers and then it was me and 3 other people to see the killjoys.
def....the canadian music industry was nothing like it is today and there is still alot of work to do...when you hear alot of the garbage that comes out from some bands you wonder why bands like this didnt make it bigger
Reply to shawnstokes: I totally agree with your comment. I remember waiting for them to go huge..but it never happened. They among other bands could have been more widespread. Another victom of the Canadian music industry?
It's strange... I used to watch Jonovision all the time, but when I saw this today, I couldn't even remember what kinds of things were talked about on the show.
wow! some good grapes of wrath and Dinosaur Jr. vibes up in hear

exactly. I wonder this all the time. It's a damn shame. Such good songwriting overshadowed by one hit wonder top 40 crap.
