@thepod96 No this was part of a BBC1 primetime show called How Do They Do That? Where viewers would send in questions and the show would find out the answers. The BBC2 ident debuted 20 years ago today on Saturday 16th February 1991. Even though those classic idents are gone the distinctive '2' still lives on.

@cylon6 which was broadcast recently on The Learning Zone, hence the BBC Two dog on-screen.

@tvlivevideo Exactly. I knew that it was broadcast in How Do They Do That? But this seems to be from an educational Learning Zone programme that used the clips from that as it is slightly different. (and cropped to widescreen)
