I've noticed you're running Windows Vista. Artists and designers have a hard-on for Macs because they believe its a better system to do art with. Would you prefer a Mac if you could afford it or does it not matter to you? Also, is this done with wacom?
You have amazing talent. For years I've tried to paint in Photoshop and I have never succeeded in it, so I switched to Corel Painter. However, upon seeing your work and watching your video it has made me want to give Photoshop another try. Truly inspirational! :)
Hahaha. I liked the pink flames from the eyes, the pirate beard and patch. But seriously man? I look at the first page of your forum, and then at the last page of your forum, and then I watch this. It is incredibly inspirational. In three years you became prodigious in all forms of art. I hope you realize how good you are. Your stuff isn't "crap" or "shit." All of it is fuckin tour de force. Thanks for putting this up, for inspiration.
I was watching this a second time and realized in the beginning you were adding a few layers then merging them, repeat process. Then part of the way through who had a ton of layers! What is the reason behind all of these layers?
@shaheemie Basically I'm too lazy to correctly use the lasso tool, but you can get a similar effect of hard and soft edges by creating a new layer, laying down some brush strokes and soft erasing portions of them. It's just a sort of personal habit I have for laying out tons of gradients over each other quickly, though I tend to let it get out of hand a little hence the ridiculous layer count. I hope that helps :)
