We all loved John. We love him still. John, we miss you so much! The world has never been the same. 30 years have passed and it still hurts just as much as it did the day it happened. I cried and cried for days on end. I was only 17 then and I love him as much now as I did back then...in fact, even more. John said he didn't want to be a "dead hero". He's not. He still lives in our hearts and I'll love him till the day I die.

This song is a very touching tribute to the late John Lennon, who was the intellect of the Beatles. This is one of my favorite Elton John songs. Elton John almost always refuses to perform this song because it brings up emotional memories of his friend John Lennon. If your lucky to ever hear Elton John perform this song live, you should feel very lucky.
