Back in the days when the media establishment allowed their to be TWO sides to the political issues and (while the hippy groups took the anti war POV in their music) The Shangrilas took the side of the American guy fighting in the war...............great song and thanks for bringing it back.

The Shangri-las were actually anti-war, and they regretted recording a pro-war song by the Mercury record label later on in their career when they were no longer succesful

I always thought the The Shangri-Las were a trio but i guess the other Weiss sister didn't like touring so we hardly ever saw her.

@dsfddsgh Mary and the twins is the trio you're familiar with. The backup girl in the middle -- sometimes described as the girl with the Bardot thing going -- is Mary's sister Betty that did not always perform with the group.

I think it sucks that these ladies didn't get more play when thier group was together. They were really awesome. I hear someone is supposed to be writting a book about them, maybe the remaining Shangri-Las will do some promo touring for it.
