  • The song tells part of the story of Robert Orin Charles Kilroy (ROCK), in the rock opera Kilroy Was Here. The song is performed by Kilroy, a rock and roll performer who was placed in a futuristic prison for "rock and roll misfits" by the anti-rock-and-roll group the Majority for Musical Morality (MMM) and its founder Dr. Everett Righteous. The Roboto is a model of robot which does menial jobs in the prison. Kilroy escapes the prison by overpowering a Roboto prison guard and hiding inside its

  • I like the music itself but even after all these years the song makes no sense.

He's thanking a robot for helping him to escape. But is he an android himself posing as a robot so he can escape or WTF? .

  • @whiskers1965 this song is about the debate about technology in the 80s. thats when technology really started to burst into modern society. the lead singer is a robot!! thats why hes talking about under his skin. but hes arguin that technology can be more helpful than hurtful. hes the MODERN MAN. TECHNOLOGY. thats all. hope i was helpful.

  • I want to hear This Theme

  • @theEdrye Dude, that would be amazing, Michael Sweet is an amazing singer.

  • @tjrtherocksponge Is the singer here Dennis DeYoung???

  • @JeffELOLynne wow i really honestly cant believe you asked a question like that!!! Yes its Dennis DeYoung!!! He didnt get fired from the band till the 90's i believe!!

  • @rocknrolllover88

He did not get fired from the band, he originated the band with Chuck and John the drummer. I think Chuck left the band and came back later. Anyway Tommy Shaw left the band when Kilroy Was Here because he felt it was crazy. Then Tommy began a solo career and that's why Styx broke up. Dennis was never fired? Where did you get that?

  • i love this vid!!

  • i too miss the time when the vidios actually followed the song with a story to match.maybe budget costs or the lack of the modern with no imagination so called directors are no longer available, but thriller, shock the monkey mr.roboto shows what imagination and direction can do.thanks for posting this vidio.

  • 3:07 is what you came for.

  • @tjrtherocksponge this song is a great by Styx I went to see them yesterday. This is a GREAT SONGlike all their songs. One of the best songs

  • domo arigato mr roboto, for uploading this.

  • Thumbs up if you hate YouTube's recent updates that makes it so when you play one song in favorites, it works as a whole playlist, and if you hate the update they did where you can't switch around where you put videos in your playlist!!! I know I hate it!

  • i love the robot voices and that guy, domo arigoto mr roboto

  • i got this song stuck in my head

  • Do you think Kilroy is under that mask?

  • 11 people apparently forgot to thank Mr. Roboto. XD

  • Unfortunately, unless you went to the Roboto tour, you will never understand how cool it all really was. The best you can hope for is to listen to the ENTIRE album and soak it in. There was a huge stage show w/ video that explained the entire thing. That lasted over an hour by itself!!!!!

  • brilliant

  • but..... who the hell is kilroy?

  • @minecraftprotipsman the U.s. O.o

  • me gusta, lo mejor de los 8ó

  • Domo arigato Mr. roboto for making this awesome song!

  • was this part of a movie or just a great video?

  • @krakka99 just a great video

  • @linafnda ah :D

  • @linafnda whe the song is is climax ( the part is domo arigato mr roboto domo domo)

  • @krakka99

Google Styx Caught in the Act

  • @krakka99 it´s more than a broadway musical

  • @krakka99 i beleive the movei was called caught in the act /watch?v=Y0yTeUrCjms theres part one im waiting for part 3 out

  • @EroKisfune thnx

  • @krakka99 Actually, it's part of a movie; "Styx - Caught in the Act." The first 20 minutes or so start as a sci-fi film, with some pretty funny stuff and decent production values. The film then goes on hold and it becomes a concert, then reverts back to the movie at the very end. Do a search on Amazon; the DVD sells for $15.

  • @krakka99 You can find a good chunk of the beginning if you do a YouTube search for "STYX - Caught In The Act - Killroy was here" and click the link for user blazek2005. I'd directly link it, but YouTube won't allow it. :(

  • @daviddrakehunter thats messed up but thanks

  • @krakka99 Actually part of a movie. It flopped.

  • @heronblackmane America ruled the world? HA! We all know Cuba is running this hellhole.

  • It was actually a whole story. you would understand if you saw the concert.

He is a famous Rock Star who is sent to prison by a group called The Majority For Musical Morality. In jail, workers have been replaced by robots, and Kilroy escapes inside a robot costume (thus, Mr. Roboto). This song is about his escape from jail, and makes a statement about the dehumanizing of the working class.

  • the 80's were the best :D

  • It's like Barry Manilow goes Rock n Roll....When styx got this guy, I stopped listening to their music...looking back ..this song is so stupid.

  • what the hell is the song about??

  • @subatomichamster Some theater or so. The main character takes out on the robot guards of the prison and uses his shell to escape prison.

yet, there's another sublime meaning to this, wich i'll leave it up for you.
