Ibanez makes the guitar and Steve Vai calls it the Jem ..The name is from his friend Joe ( went to grade school with Steve ) who came up with the letters. J=Joe's E=Electronic or Electric M = Motors or something like that .. Joe told me years ago but I don't rmember it actually : )
