I knew that she had another crack in her last Anna Bolena from Met, did you hear it on the radio? She is a food singer but she has to' understand that she canto sing everything or her voice will not last. This is not Mozart, is Netrebko joking to sing Mozart

Somehow I felt when watching the live broadcast that it wasn´t her night. I think she still gave a very good performance. And as for the crack, if it really was one, any true singer has complete understanding for that. It´s happened to everyone. And this wasn´t Anna's first time to crack. But you know what: She has an enormous fanclub, and she worked very hard for what she has. Inspiring.

mi schiero tra i difensori- non mi pare male! non amo per nulla questa cantante, ma i commenti mi paiono eccessivi- ho seguito in video questa notevole edizione del don giovanni, e mi pare che Barenboim abbia addandonato l'idea di un canto "mozartiano" con suono fisso e emotività congelata, come siamo abituati a sentire. Ho trovato questa svolta interessantissima e coinvolgente- i personaggi ne escono più veri e credibili.

@andreernestgretry allora non capisco cosa vuol dire e, diciamo la verità non me ne importa molto... inoltre l'uso del'aggettivo "pessimo" anche per la direzione non lo condivido (esiste la formula "non mi piace", al limite, inappropriato,. lento)...d'altra parte il gusto personale, su cui si basa il giudizio anche dei critici professionisti, rimane soggettivo e insindacabile e non suffragato vivaddio da un codice della melomania ,insomma, per dirla con don giovanni, "viva la libertà!"

@acul1964 Guarda, se la metti su questo piano, posso anche darti ragione (il fraseggio però non è solo indifendibile, è inesistente). Però a me non basta, e visto che la signora viene trattata al pari di tante cantanti, e anche di più, che hanno segnato le Donna Anna di riferimento della storia del teatro e del disco, francamente non mi accontento, L'aggravante non è essere meno peggio di altre, cosa vera, ma l'essere trattata come l'unica. Per me non è corretto.

If i weren't a musician and played this video i would have thought that she is singing something from Puccini or Verdi and not Mozart. Where are the phrases for god's sake? 2:10- 2: 22 it should be on 1 breath! She's cutting the phrase!! That's the heaviness in the aria! The phrases! Don;t get me wrong, i'm huge fan of her work... but this disappointed me a little.

@8Goldie I agree with you. Also a fan of her work, also her "Or sai chi l'onore" in the same evening was much more better than this... pity! He voice obiviousely changed after having children, she must decide what she will do with it, she must decide carefully what she will be singing next...

@MisterSoprano I think that after her pregnancy she sounds waaay better! More dramatic! (i'm huge fan of dramatic voices cause i;m a dramatic soprano too) but she disappointed in the technique. Something about her diaphragm...has changed.. Regardless we love her even though she messed Mozart ^^

Her long awaited debut! There was more commotion outside, given the presence of Mario Monti and President Napolitano at la prima. Whatever one thinks of Carsen's staging or Baremboim's conducting, Mozart and Netrebko were the stars. One may not like some of her choices in roles or her ability to sing them. However, she has what all great artists share: an instantly recognizable sound, musical and dramatic commitment, and God knows she is never boring. Brava!
