Due to cruelty issues and the reactions of the public, the pink horses aren't being featured in the video (this is what I read in a news article). Selena wasn't aware that they were going to actually paint the horses, and thought they were going to digitally make them look pink in the video. The paint they used was all natural, however it is unpredictable whether an individual horse would have an allergic reaction, what is fine for one horse could be dangerous for another.
