It's a real shame that Knots was over looked in the UK compared to other soaps such as Dynasty and Falcon Crest, and didn't get the credit it deserved. I preferred Knots more and the cast always seemed so down to earth too.
Although Dallas had more episodes, Knots Landing by far outlasted the other soaps, Dynasty, Falcon Crest, the Colbys, and Dallas, clocking in it at 14 years of seasons. It also ran more than twice as long as its two competitors, LA Law and Hill Street Blues. But not once was any of Knots Landings fantastic actors even nominated for an Emmy.
I liked the show, but "fantastic" is a little overboard. Down to earth and realistic, normal lives earn die-hard viewers, but do not earn Emmy's. All those other shows were filthy rich fantasies. KL was real people.
I loved this show. Going over to grandmas house on thursday night and have a party pizza and popcorn watching Knots Landing.
