I was wondering which month of fall this was at. I'm going to Kaysersberg at the begining of October and would love to capture these colors and light. When did you go?
@ReaWells I think it was early October when we were there or perhaps late September. We lucked out with perfect weather and color, but I suppose it varies a bit every year. Hope you have a ball!
@soultravelers3 So what exactly is a soul traveler? I would adore to travel to as many cultures as you have, but I have quite the lacking of money =( So many beautiful and unique cultures to see, and so little time to enjoy.
How do you find all the great places on your trips and I'm curious, without knowing the languages? Amazing! I want to do this with my daughter, but I don't know if I could because of custody. Her dad might miss her.
The link for the website of the artist singing this song didn't work for me. What's the title of the song? I don't understand any of the lyrics but it's a beautiful song!
Thanks! Sorry that link is not working. The song is dream a little dream of me sung in French. If you google singer Emilie-Claire Barlow you should find it!
One of my most fondest wishes, and earliest childhood dreams, are to travel the world and experience new and different cultures and just live life to its fullest. I never had the opportunity to do these things as, we were so poor ( seriously, not that fake kind of poor where you still have running water and electricity) at times that we could not even afford simple things. I hope to fulfill this dream of mine and take my own child along for the journey with me. She's so lucky and so are you guys
You are very lucky to have such an amazing child. and your lifestyle is absolutely phenominal! your daughter is having the experience of her lifetime. you are great parents [:
0:27, my mom and dad, stayed at that hotel before i was even born!!! on the right side, the pink one, and i ate at that restaurant while i was in alsace!! thats so awesome to see you guys went there!!
We have not been to Indonesia yet, but plan to go when we get to that part of the world. My brother married a girl from Indonesia ( who was raised in Holland) so we feel quite connected! ;)
this was an absolutely beautiful video! So wonderful to get to see the world through your videos. Some people never travel the world but you really bring it home to them through your videos!
awesome you should come to romania in timisoara is a very nice city :) if you are meent to travel around the world :) kises for that little girl (sorry my english I'm from roamania :D)
Hello to my favorite travelers~ I was pleasantly surprised to see a new posting. WOW!! Alsace is breathtakingly beautiful. Maybe it's just me but I think Mozart has gotten taller. You all look lovely. Glad you had so much fun. I hope you all are doing well in Andalucia. Best wishes, Lisa from Chicago
Thanks tupulla! We were in Alsace at just the right moment, no crowds & awesome color! You are right, Mozart is growing like a weed. She is a skinny mini who seems to just grow up, not out. lol Still, she was almost 8 in this video and she is still wearing a size 5 top there that we brought with us when she was 5!
All is well in Andalucia and we are working hard as we can to make videos and catch up. We have a bunch of new ones coming soon!
I'm so envious! i just finished university and I want to travel so much, but I feel like I'm falling behind my peers. Everyone else I know has already gone on to either med school or to do their masters, and I'm still trying to figure my life out. I feel like if I travel I'll be wasting time...ughh!!!!!
My advice chiccaboom is to follow your heart and bliss! Read our site about how to do extended travel on little money or google the Matador article on how to travel the world for free or Maya Frost on global education! Carpe Diem!
Many say this year will be the best year for a gap year due to the economy and lots of travel deals. Something to consider. it is really easiest to travel when you are young and will be an enriching experience in itself.
I really admire your family for having the courage to do this. I have asked many people I admire what I should do and I've gotten mixed answers. I know that I am the one who will have to make the decision, but it's so hard when you and others have expectations of yourself, and are compared to your peers. I have been researching international volunteer oppotunities for this summer...hopefully I will be able to tell you some travel stories of my own.
It looks like a place out of a fairy tale where everything is so laissez faire and perfect! I'm going to have to start making a list of everywhere you go so I can eventually trvale there also!
Thanks SillyKairi4 ! Make sure you watch it in high quality as it looks even better on our imovie version. It was a kind of take-your-breath-away kind of moment in time and place!
Thanks carbonkid2! Yes, actually several cute towns & the city of Colmar all mixed in here.
We have not been to Australia yet, but it is definitely on our list. We have run into a TON of Australians camping around Europe! ;) Mozart had a ball with a family from Oz in Nice after Alsace for a week!
Thank you smbfoyt ! Isn't that nice? Always good to relax, take a deep breath & take in some of the beauty of this world! ;) Glad we inspired that. ;)
Wonderful villages and cottages... Thx for giving me a taste of it. I've only been to Paris before - that's where hubby did propesed to me. We're going to France in August but "around Marseille".
Thanks so much lifecruisetravel! ;) Wow, proposed to in Paris, what a lucky girl! You will have to put Alsace at harvest time on your list! ;) You should say hi to my friend Claude when you are in Marseille!
You two are giving your daughter a blessed life and I admire your courage to travel as much as you do. Do you home school Mozart? How do you manage to raise the funds for such lives of adventure? Good luck in your upcoming travels!
Thanks Marty! Yes, we do home school Mozart all year in English and she also goes to the local school in our 15th century village in Spain when we are there in the winter (to immerse in her second language.)
If one travels slowly & lives like a native, it does not cost much to travel. We live well on 25K a year as we travel the world. Something we could not do at home.
We saved for many years and sold everything we owned to take this journey. Read our blog for how-to info on budget travel!

Have you tried South America too?

Thanks so much ulanis! We haven't been to South America yet on our world tour ( I have been to Brazil) but we will go there.
Yes, we are lucky, but sense we do it so cheaply, we are also proving that any one can do this, ;)
