  • Thanks, my video is perfect!!

  • i followed your instructions to the letter, except im on windows media v11 now, 9 isn't an option, final file size after rendering is 120mb, but this is just for barely over 2 minutes in length =s i don't think i can follow this for a full 10 or 15 minute clip, any more instructions would be appreciated, thanks

  • ah thanks man, i see where i was going wrong now, thanks alot

  • Great video.

    I downloading Sony Vegas now.

I had issues with my uploaded videos for my channel, hope this work. I love you man if it works.

  • thanks!:D

  • I love how he says JEWWWWLY

  • omg thanks man!

  • does this method work for song vegas 7?

  • ty bro verry good vid :)

i love it you help me manny :)

  • thnx man :)))

  • this work for sony vegas 7?

  • does it really work??.....OMG SOOO COOL THANX....... :D

  • wow, your the shit. I love you! hahaha wow i subbed 2 u :D

  • Thx for for help :D

  • Wooo

that's great man, I do everything right but when rendering after 50% .

There is a bug and vegas shut down itself.

I suposed I need a codec but which one...

  • I found that using Sony Vegas (any version including Movie Studio) with Vista produces disaster. I could never render a video that would upload properly on YouTube. If it ever did upload the sound snyc will be 5 seconds behind. I suggest using XP.

  • thanks man now my videos will look better :)

  • thank you legend house thanks to you i can now upload 2videos that i never had the chance to upload

  • Whenever i do render, it only renders about 1:32 of my 6:00 video, am i doing somthing wrong?

  • Just from what you said, I'm guess that you're not dragging the little yellow flag to cover the whole video explained at 1:12 of the video.

  • This tutorial is very out dated. I'm not sure what the result will be using this method now. The best way to upload is using 720p if your camcorder films a minimum of that resolution. Along with that, there's a step prior to dropping in the tracks to get rid of the inevitable letterboxing. Maybe another tutorial is needed.

  • how come when you picked the 3 megabytes/secons after it said default template? please reply!

  • Because I did this in stages just to make the video. It won't read default when you do it.

  • takes to long to upload but whatever.

  • when I try to upload a video it says "unable to convert video file". help please!

  • THANKS! I'll try this on my next one.

  • Awesome, Thanks

  • hey when i try to upload to youtube it says dat there is and unknown error and it failed to upload wats going on

  • Thanks so much!

  • great ty i did it once for ps3 vid looks great but just forgot :/ lmao thanks again bro

  • If you use a different video format (not the one mentioned in video) will it degrade the resulting video quality and now give out the link?

  • THANK YOU!

  • Have been looking for over a week now trying to find software/routine to upload good quality widescreen mpeg4 files to YouTube. Thought I'd cracked it when I came accross your video - much clearer than most others....but following your instructions to the letter still get horrednously blotchy video output.

    See Latest Test

    What am I doing wrong?

  • It depends on what size the original video was. It has to be at least 640x480. Also, YouTube has changed once again. The ultimate way to upload now is 720p-1280x720 to get the HD link.

  • It was an MPEG4 file at 720x576, PAL, but it stills comes views poorly - even in HD. Perhaps it's due to poor lighting?

  • Thanks a lot man, I'm bout to try this right now. ;]

  • hey what do u use to take video of your computer screen at 1:34 and a lot of other spots. basicly all

  • hyper cam, bsr, or camstudio

  • ok i have sony 7 and it takes FOREVER for it to load to youtube. literally. One time it took 8 hours

  • all the effects were kinda freaky... ecspecially the man at the end

  • How did u get that guy at the end?

  • I made him with a few other programs.

  • what if i skip that first step on the videos?

  • It will probably be grainy if you skip that first step.

  • excellent !!! thanx!

  • vegas 8 platinum

  • It is limited in certain ways compared to Pro 8 but I'm not sure how.

  • well first off awesome video and great job, but im still having a problem rendering. Everytime i render will go all the way through the video but then when it gets to the last min of still photos i put in, it fails and says theres been a error or sometimes the whole program shutsdown. have any idea why this is happening?

  • I have no idea. I've heard of other people having that problem. Are you using Sony Vegas 8 Pro?

  • This adds the HQ option right?

  • on the preview screen at the bottom right, during rendering, the resolution is tiny, is that how it will come out on youtube?

  • Okay now YouTube supports widescreen. I guess I'll figure out those settings and make another tutorial. This tutorial will still work though for 4:3 viewing.

  • i have got a video but everytime i go to render it it starts to render fine and takes 3 and a half hours.. my comps a little slow but it repeats the video again? why is that?

ie it renders my whole video and then does it again?

it finishes the vid at 50% then starts again.. HELP!

  • That happened to me months ago with Sony Vegas 7. I can't remember what the problem was. I think it had to do with the kind of file it was. Some kind of weird AVI.

  • Wow,

    Those settings look pretty good.

I am subscribing, 5/5 and faved!

  • does it take a while for it to be high quality?

  • Yes but:I saw your video. I don't think it has enough screen motion in it to get the HQ link.

  • which means :P

  • Add a busy intro with motion and maybe an ending too.

  • what do u mean in busy, do you mean in the beginning its all busy and stuff?

  • Notice the transitions in my tutorial between scenes? I had to put those in there to get the HQ link for the tutorial because it lacked motion.

  • Cool other tutortials I could make it so right now its rendering hopefully it works :D i subscribed you and i favorite this :D

  • wow dude, your video is so professional sounding and its simple and easy to do and very helpful to me. Very good quality video, 5 stars. subscribed

  • Thank you!

  • Subscribed :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

  • Thank you!

  • kk, im testin my vid now.

  • love it Thx!!!!!!

  • wow thanx alot man

  • ty ty your an angel ty!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OMFG THIS HELPED SOO MUCH, Favortied, And SUBSCRIBED!

  • I saw your last vid. It looks great! Thanks for subscribing.

  • Thanks man, my vids look great now.

  • Good. YouTube has so many limits.

  • Thank you anyway, Legendhouse.

I am uploading a video now with your settings. =D I hope it works. =]

  • Me too.

  • just remember that the high quality link takes a little while to appear under your video.

  • This was very good for me. Thank you a lot. If you could answer one question, much thanks:

If I have a film of like... 50+ clips, and I want it to be HQ, is there anyway to MERGE all the video into one big video clip so I can just do the properties thing once? Thank you once again.

    -K

  • Unfortunately not. I wish.

  • thanks very much

  • I hope it helps you.

  • Great video man, this really helped me out alot!

  • Legend, thank you loads for the tutorial. I have to say you have a perfect voice for this, very clear and understandable. Thank you and keep 'em coming!

  • Thank you. I hate my voice.

  • hey dude! there is still a problem with the audio like i told you before can you help me?

  • It's YouTube's problem. A lot of people are having the same issue rendering their own way.

  • This is the best tutorial I've seen. My quality has been amazing so, props to you. Thank you. I do, however, have a problem. When uploading on to Youtube, the sound messes up badly. The video plays fine but the audio skips and falls behind. This has happened 3 times already. Is there anyway you could help me?

  • If you unchecked the boxes in the audio properties, skip that part. If not, try unchecking them.

  • Thanks for time to reply. Appreciate it. I've tried every kind of combo but it never worked. I had to make an AVI and it uploaded to YouTube with no problem. I used some of the info you said with the WMV and it came out a little better but nowhere near the quality the WMV was in in my Real Player. Oh well. Thank you though. Good info.

  • Ty man..u da beast..xD

  • It works! Thanx!

  • great video thanx

  • Thanks.I hope it helps you.

  • i cant preview my video in the player because it says no program is selevted i have windows player 9 and i used to preview vid in windows player 9 but now i cant. how do i select the program i wanna use to preview my vids?

  • I would say update your player or download Media Player Classic. It plays almost anything.

  • ok thanks alot

  • With still pictures it is hard to get the HQ link. That's why this video has transititons.

  • ok thanks for the info

  • ohh ye also when i render it in quality vbr. I had a 30 secound video jus for a test and the file size came out in 154 mb and takes ages to upload is this right?

  • Are you making it a WMV?

  • ye im making it windows video V9

  • That's too huge. 640x480 2-3Mbps bit rate WMV9?

  • Great video! But when i do it this way it comes out all lagy or something wrong with the bit rate. it has good quality jus the bit rate is bad, thats why i render it in bit rate vbr. Is there a way i could render it in quality vbr without laggy bit rate???

  • What is it doing exactly?

  • well i was jus using my digital camera recording jus radom stuff

  • I would try again and make sure you camera is set on high resolution. After rendering in Vegas, 30 seconds should be about 20-30 MB I guess.

  • Ok thanks do you think my tutorial vids are good quality or should i keep trying to do it this way?

  • They are pretty much still images which is usually clear anyway.

  • Mate thanks for the advice!!!!

But whenever i upload my video onto youtube sometimes the video skips scenes and the music starts to skip also and gumble up!!!!

But its only when its on utube this happens!!!

Its perfect whenevr i save it to my computer and watch it myself!!!!

Only on youtube des it start messing up!!!

    Please help me!!!

    Thanks!!!

  • Are you using a Cannon camcorder?

  • i don't have the "Enable" button when i hit track fx, does that change anything???

  • I don't think it matters.

  • oh wait yeah i have it i just wasn't paying attention lol

  • Are you using Sony Vegas 8 Pro?

  • i think....

    lemme check

  • I use sony vegas 8!!!

how do i save or publish a edited video to my computer... not the web, so i can post it on youtube? please write back!!!

  • how do i save or publish a edited video to my computer... not the web, so i can post it on youtube? please write back!

  • It sounds like you are using Windows Movie Maker. Am I right?

  • My "quality" switch does not appear (where u choose 100% not 90%) plz help?

  • What version are you using?

  • takes too long to upload vegas vids

  • It all depends on the size.

  • also one thing (sorry for 2 comments)

but tell me.. in the end of the video suddently its not Quality VBR anymore, then its CBR, so are u teaching us to do Quality VBR or CBR?

because i get so confused. I thought it was about Quality VBR but in the end u change it somehow.

I want to know how to make optimal quality..

btw i got 3 youtube accounts... (wow!)

tezzofino is the main one.. (this is NOT important)

    take care for now..

  • hey NorWay707 here.

does clips u play some times (the crystal-lights) or something.

how did you make this quality?

it was in 640x480? and ur film was in 640x480 to?

    Quality VBR is REALLY GOOD!

but it is REALLY huge! xD ;D ^^

  • I film in 1080i which is 1440x1080 and reduce to 640x480. VBR vs. CBR: Go with the VBR.

  • Added to me faves anyway. Just incase I forget. ;)

  • Excellent, easy to view / follow guide. I've uploaded HQ video's before but forgot about the using the "custom" 640x480 option. You nailed it fella.

Thanks a LOT and, I now have it saved for future use.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

    Cheers

Lee. 5* vote (if it was an option - lol)

  • Good. I'll check your channel soon for a new video.

  • It will actually be the same latest vid but, slightly tweaked. ;)

  • when i load my vids into sony vegas they play really slow is it because of my computer I have an amd athlon 2.0ghz processor and 728mb ram

im using sony vegas 7 so should I get more ram or is there certain settings i can use to make the video play better when im adding effects to it...

  • You can try viewing it as a draft but that's typical really. Unless you have a larger processor or a bunch of RAM.

  • yeah i tried that and still didnt work well im trying to get my friends other comp to work its a dell with a 3.0ghz intel pentium 4 processor and with 1024 mb of ram but it needs a new power supply...well thanks for the help

  • I have 3.2 Ghz processor and 2GB Ram on the PC I use for Vegas and still have that problem when I'm working with HD formats.

  • excellent tutorial very well explained favorited :D

  • Thank you.

  • Woah dude thanks!

  • Let me know how it works for you.

  • um go to JiK 11th tron and Rey Mysterio HD!!! they worked...

  • My channel, vids are JiK 11th and Rey Mysterio HD

  • Wait a min I just realized something, I pulled the video straight from the Cameras memory card as 1 clip, is there a way to upload into Vegas broken down into 8-15second intervals allowing me to trim and transition...

  • Sure. You just need to cut and paste. Highlight the area of the video you want seperate by doing this: Hold your cursor above where you want to start, left click and hold then drag a shaded area over what you want. Release the click then right click in the shaded area. Choose cut. Now slide/drag what's left of the video to the right and right click and paste in the same track to the left of what's already there. Does this make sense?

  • it's just the transistion part i'm confused about

  • I'm not sure what you mean. You can overlap the 2 a little for a transition.

  • The amazing part about this particular rendering is, if I make it full screen it's stays in highest quality, it's almost to good to be true. But of course running into this issue is something I knew was coming, kk I'll try rendering at 576x432 hopefully this will make the file 1Gb or less instead of 1.62GB.

  • I think the video I made is too big at 1.62GB how do I shrink it down to about 1GB?

  • Wow! You must have a lot in it. I guess you'll need to shorten the length. Are you rendering as a WMV?

  • Well I did exactly as you said, the video is awesome, the thing is it's 8:16 long. I recorded straight from camera added music a title & credits. Unfortunetaly when I cropped it, it comes down as 1 clip & trimming & transition I don't know how to do. Is there a way to shrink the file size down leaving the video the way it is?

  • Try rendering at 576x432. That should still get the HQ link and shrink the file size. If that doesn't do it, your bottom line should be 480x360 and I'm not sure if you'll get the HQ or not at that size.

  • thank you now i can make my vidz alot better

  • the thing is, it's a video with pictures but, these picture move very fast, seems youtube can't handle. thanks anyways

  • how do you add the text on your selected video ?

  • Add me as a friend so I can answer that question.

  • it worked for other videos, but for some reason it doesn't work for the video that i was trying to fix. it's so weird, i don't understand, it looks awesome when i watch it on my windows media player but when i upload to youtube, that video looks terrible. i worked hard for that video, but it doesn't matter cause the quality sucks, anyways.

  • Is it a slideshow? It may not have enough motion in it to get the HQ link.

  • fierce! i'm gonna try this, hope it works, i'm very sexy and i deserve to have the best quality.

  • It will.

  • Hm.. I will have to try this, but I used the swirl fx in my video, and in .wmv it looked like crap! but in .avi it looked normal, so I'll see how this works! Very well laid out and easy to understand!

  • Thanks, this really helped me out. But there's one problem. After I try uploading the video, the audio messes up and sounds like a scratched CD. Other than that, everything else is fine.

  • Without seeing the video, I'm assuming that you unchecked the audio properties options. Leave them checked. If not, try unchecking them.

  • The HQ option is back in Internet Explorer.

  • Awesome! I just learned a great deal! Thanks, can't wait to try it out.

  • don't works in IE!!

  • YouTube is changing the HQ link again. They seem to be removing it from IE. You will still see in it higher quality though. Make sure your account settings are set for "View in HQ". You will still see the link using Firefox. See the featured video on my channel.

  • To everone. Legendhouse is the go to guy. Can't imagine the hrs spent understanding and then testing all the different combinations. Thanks again -

    Blinko

  • Thank you and I'm glad to help!!!

  • wait respond to this how do u make ur voice into the video while still recording!?

  • With your mic.

  • funny.

  • Wow nice video! Your real clever :)

  • Some of the tabs you use in this I don't have in my Sony Vegas program. The bitrate tab I don't have. Maybe I'm missing something. I'm using Sony Vegas 8.

  • I just figured out that if you use AVI, the tab for Bit Rate doesn't appear but then I chose Windows Movie Maker and saw that option.

  • I tried uploading a video just now and did what this video says and I didn't see the high quality option and also I heard these weird noises in the music. I don't know what is wrong with it.

  • Your Vegas should look like my Vegas for the most part. The bit rate tab should be there, regardless of what format you choose. With the HQ option, you have to wait a while for it to show up. Sound:Leave all of the audio boxes checked. Don't uncheck them.

  • I left the audio alone and maybe it was something in the advanced render options that made the audio not so good. Also, for some reason, when I try to render it as AVI, I don't get that Bit Rate tab. Maybe my program isn't complete or something like that. I just uploaded the video again after messing around with the settings and if I have the same problem, I'll send you the video to see what I mean.

  • I believe there is 3 versions. I'm using Vegas 8 Pro.

  • I have the standard 8 so that might be why I am having problems.

  • Upload it again and make it public. I'll download it and check it out.

  • I see it. Wow. I don't think you are filling the frame to begin with. The footage resolution is very small in the frame.

  • Oh you see the video now? I wanted it with a border. But I didn't hear that noise which is good. What I'm worried about is getting high quality.

  • I believe that there is so little motion on the screen as a whole you'll be lucky to get the HQ option. I believe the minimum is 600 Kbps. You may have to ad an intro that has motion and possibly an ending.
