  • good buy!!

  • NICE!!! $30 DOLLAR GX 160!

  • Did you check the engine oil level before starting it? Chances are, if they ran the pump without oil, the Engine oil may be low or really dirty, since it's apparent that whoever used it didn't take good care of it.

  • @nene2414 a pair of Channellock snap ring pliers

  • i got the exact same pump good motor bad pump for $25.00 pump runs but low pressure will try to rebuild it very very helpful video thank you.

  • hi I recently got a used pressure washer and I was wondering do all pumps need oil?

  • @EvanAlmighty726 yes most of them need oil, some don't

  • @EvanAlmighty726 yes, oil is lube.

  • save the frame from that pressure washer, the frames make GREAT engine test stands

  • nicely done. I can appreciate the work to achieve all the good edits. I have a LWD 3020 it was good to see the internals. by the look of the valves that thing was severely overheated, probably from running too long without spraying.

  • had a guy give me one just like this. he had run bleach threw it!LOL needless to say the aluminum pump crumbled in my hand when i went to take it off. boy she froze up solid!

  • I'm glad i have found your channel, its full of helpful info!!!

  • great diagnosis ! I would think a used pump would be a candidate for that good bed and engine. good job ! Frank

  • @40streetrod yea i decided not to repair it, thanks

  • im glad to see your finally a youtube partner. you deserve it

  • @ElkhartFootball28 thanks man

  • would make a sweet go kart

  • 5:48 reminds me of OPERATION!

  • @shmuckseason i had that game when i was a kid

  • This is a real sweet purchase. Nice find!

  • @Dodgeboy2003 yea i hit the jackpot on that one

  • I like these Honda engines, they are indestructible!

  • i just had the same problem with an old 1960 briggs with a water pump, i took the pump bolt off and the engine started to turn over, then it was scrapping, i repositioned the pump and tigthened it up again and now the engine turns freely with the pump on

  • Wow, total destruction. Thanks for showing this Don! I've never taken apart one of these before.

  • Great video! Hopefully its not too much to rebuild, I have one of these pumps that is in need of a rebuild and would love to see how its done.

  • NICE VIDEO PLEASE MAKE MORE

  • at 4:24 what is that tool called? thanks

  • @exmarkmetroguy snap ring plers from channellock

  • @donyboy73 thanks

  • @exmarkmetroguy snap ring removal too, i believe

  • I cant believe you got that honda for $30!

  • @GarrettJDB i raced over like mad and got it right away

  • Dony-

Good video and very nice score. Do those honda engines (GX or GC models) have a universal size driveshaft? Say you had a leaf blower with a honda gc engine (5.5 or 6) that quit, could you mount that gx engine on the leafblower?

  • @pberglin i'm pretty sure yes

  • That motor would be great for a go cart if you can not get the pump fixed . maybe you can get lucky and find one with a bad motor and a good pump maybe e-bay may have a pump .

    good luck

  • It was a great deal even if you just got the nice little gx for $30!

    Good vid again, Dony.

  • @gpzDave yea i hit the jackpot on that one!

  • I hate it when people ignore checking and adding oil. Cool video man !

  • even if you dont repair the pump its still a nice engine you got and only $30 wow u got a good deal man probably $400 or more in the store

  • It is abvsoilutely amazing how much damge is done by people ignoring oil. I bet its a 1/4 (or more) of your business. Such an easy thing to do. By the way, I did want to show I have some knowledge. The place where you can see oil in a mechanical device is called a "Sight Glass". But you are speaking Candianese so maybe you guys do call it "Eye Glass" Thats my part in giving back to you Dony!!

Remeber folks, help Dony help us, click on an advertisement or two when you view his Videos. Thanks!!

  • @ThePauperPrepper it's my french but thank you

  • The pump manifold looks good just a few O rings to replace. I think the camshaft may be bent but I think the price of parts will make this project too expensive.

I do hope Im wrong it would be a good repair.

its a good deal on the engine if the pump is scrap.

  • omg your lucky to get that for $30

  • a new pump is cheaper then repair. i repaired one this bad and a new pump would have been cheaper. nice cheap project more for 30 bucks.

  • Cool...now you have a snowblower motor

  • I'm betting the cost of either a new pump or replacement parts to fix the old one will be cost prohibitive. Seems like the Honda engine is in excellent condition and for $30 consider it a deal and call it a day.

  • Awesome deal. If all else fails you can always resell the motor ( or it would be great for gokart or something) for close to $200.00 down here no problem. Also you could buy a pressure washer with a bad motor really cheap.

  • where did you get those snap rings plyers

  • @biggray94 i got them at canadian tire, but they are readily available in most hardware stores

  • u would be aswell buying a new pump, looks a big mess in there,???????save u a lot of time, the camshaft looks scored, good project tho, good luck,

  • @Liamautomechanic thanks

  • nice video dony, i have been working on presure washers this past year....picked up a couple throw a ways, that needed repair....it`s been difficult finding repair information on the pumps.so i think this would be a great area for you to continue with your repair series to include presure washers .......by the way the comet pump is an excellent pump...good luck

  • @PGXI thanks
