Whenever you knock somebody down, whether by grab break or counter attack or whatever, you can just flail on them with the attack button while they're on the ground. And they won't get up. But you have to watch out for other people trying to hit you while you're doing it, but I haven't had that problem much. They usually leave you alone.

the easy way was to climb up that ladder and wait for them. Kill them one by one as they will try to climb up. Saves time and effort.
