ive grown to hate ty evans. he loves his slow mo way too much and its mad annoying.theres nothing wrong with slow mo, but it takes away from a vid like fully flared when the last 15 tricks are slow mo'd. fully flared was probably the best skating ive ever seen, but not the best vid. but alvarez kills it and ty evans should move to hollywood and use his HD and overdone editing to make a scripted movie.

i dont hate HD, i just hate how he uses it. now hes using dollies and overdoing slow mo, and imo skating should be a lil less professional. he takes himself way too seriously and edits like his videos are the next best thing to a cure for cancer. and tell me that this vid isn't overdone: watch?v=8SsTlzOB2Xc. i beg lucas was pissed when he saw that. and i wanna see more vids filmed in HD if im gonna spend the money to buy and HDTV, but for the love of god just keep that technology outta tys hands

thats ur opinion. yes i think he overdid alvarezes part with the dollies. but lakai fully flared was one of the best filming and skating ever, not to mention the editing. he can experiment with promo parts as much as he wants to. and i think puig's part was suppoased to be some deja vu experience, he did take a different approach to it than the other editors, and yes he could have done a much better job, but hes till one of the best in the business.

i actually think some of the editing was badass. like how pappalardo falls into the ground and how they do the intro to each part with the crazy colors and shit. there's no doubt ty has tons of talent, but it's not always tasteful. a good parallel to ty evans is buckethead. theyre both great at what they do, but ty evans overdoes a lot of things and buckethead plays way too fast. the bottom line is u have to be tasteful, not extravagent

tbh i think hd is sick, dont get me wrong vx's and mk2 fisheyes are where it's at and with so many people using them i feel it will stay that way for quite a time coming, but reading all the negativ comments bout ty evans and so on i think its shit what ppl are chatting, for people like ty evans who can use hd and have the ability then why not, it means you can be so much more creative which is shown in this video, i agree that vx's whoudl be used for the raw footage but ther's a place for hd.

I think HD is good for intros, and portraits to make them look less awkward as well as skatepark stuff to make it more interesting, but I agree, an all HD video will take the rawness out that makes a video feel real. I want to keep our videos VX based as long as we can keep getting the cameras fixed. I think HD will be more for special projects or spliced in to give a different 'prettier' perspective.
