I wouldn't trust any of the parties that brought us to where we are. Including the Reagan Republicans. Government didn't exactly shrink during his time in office. What I suggested in that last post is a crazy fantasy. More and more I am starting to think that no government at all is the best answer. Its like govt. is the training wheels that brought civilization up out of barbarity. Now we need to evolve again and cast off the training wheels. Their just holding us back.
America needs a "do-over". We should have all the States secede, abolish the Federal Government altogether, then reconstitute a truly limited Union of Sovereign States that protects liberty and nothing else. Then all the collectivists can move to Massachusetts (or some other State that favors socialism) to enjoy the freedom of enacting their utopian plans without being hassled by the rest of the happy and prosperous free market proponents in the rest of the Union. That'll be the day!!
With RINOs controlling the Republican Party, I wouldn't trust any of them to reconstitute anything properly. We don't have enough Reagan Conservatives who would courageously adhere to our founding principles.
It's an option on the receiving side. Paying for it [through taxes] will still be mandatory - just like school taxes.
While the killing of the doctors is inexcusable and counterproductive to the message, it is still a drop in the bucket (except when it comes to airplay.)
Third clip: Mixed feelings Would rather see the playing field leveled by unfettering UPS rather than screwing over FedEx.
this healthcare plan will allow those who can't afford their healthcare to get healthcare.... that whole obama lied and grandma died thing is bullshit. you will have a choice keep your coverage or get your healthcare from the government. you sound worse then fox news bud.
but the plan will require those that can afford to purchase heath insurance to purchase it. The government will decide if you can afford it - not you. (About 1/3 of the current uninsured can afford insurance by government estimates, though these folks may not think so.
HC is not a right the same way that having a job is not a right. I do think we need health care reform, but I don't think we need a public option. If people choose not to get health care that is their decision. The same way that people who choose to live unhealthy lives have made a decision. Why should other people have to pay for that decision?
Until America removes money from the political process, it will always have a corrupt system serving the moneyed special interests ahead of the interests of ordinary citizens. Measures to remove the corruption influence of money should include a) publicly funded elections, b) prohibiting campaign contributions from corporations and unions, and c) curtailing the practice of deep pocket special interests from blanketing the cable networks with propaganda videos.
because when you get a policy for medical you get all kinds of stupid coverage to make up for all the people who actually use the insurance too much or dont pay for their portions. look at your medical and see what your paying for.
The public option, under the bill, would be operate on premiums from people who chose to enroll in the plan. The plan would have to negotiate prices from suppliers (inc'd doctors & hospitals) just like the private insur. co's do.
Everyone has a chance of needing health care, and everyone should contribute. That's not optional nor should it be. What is optional is whether you choose a public or private plan.
Having a country where anyone can receive health care (& not just emergency room stabilization) is something everyone could be proud of. Your attitude is not something anyone should be proud of.
That's right. No income tax, no army to defend the country, no health & safety regulations to protect you from tainted food or hazardous products, and so forth, no police force to protect you from crime, and so on.
Skimp on wars, eliminate pork barrel projects, postpone projects, or whatever has to be done, but no one has anything if they don't have health care.
do u know history? are you playing the party politic game. why dont you research who historically started wars. the republican party or democrat party .....
Nothing is a right, not food or liberty or even life. They are all a right only if a nation decides to treat them as such.
With respect to health care, any nation that considesr itself a great nation, a Christian nation, or even a smart nation, will treat it as if it is a right.
On that standard America is still a backwards shit hole, falling behind every other advanced nation on earth. .
As to what income tax is used for, every local & state gov't & the national gov't have freely available breakdowns of budget expenditures, usually even posted on-line on their website links).
Every propaganda vid & infomercial has "real" people telling their story.
2009 poll by Nanos Research:86.2% of Canadians surveyed supported or strongly supported "public solutions to..health care". 2009 Harris/Decima poll: 82% of Canadians preferred their healthcare syst. to the one in the U.S., more than ten times as many as the 8% stating a preference for a US-style health care system..
Strategic Counsel survey in 2008: 91% of Cnd's preferring their healthcare system to that of the U.S

Basically, if you have insurance you WILL pay more - either directly or through taxation.
If insurance is available to you, but is more than you want to pay - you will still be required to purchase it.

It's an option, not completely run by government. Our healthcare right now is not that fantastic anyways.
The second clip: The killings of abortion doctors. But I do agree with the terror thing.
Third clip: Not so sure yet.

I dont like GOPs healthcare bill either. Until someone says NO more insurance companys, then the problem will not be fixed
annielwhite 2 years ago
Why are the health insurance companies the problem? Why not malpractice trial lawyers? Why not pharmaceutical companies? Why not hospitals?

Once again, an optional insurance plan is not "government control of the health care system".
It doesn't involve government run hospitals or doctors on government payroll.
megarational 2 years ago
Who is going to pay the Doctors and hospitals then?

Ok how did we have an army and navy from 1776-1913... this shows me you have no idea what income tax goes to. not those things.

I'm afraid the army of 1776 would not be sufficient defense in today's world.
