Thanks so much for posting this video. It has brought back many fond memories for me. This is a really special place. I was lucky to visit here a year and a half ago. It was the final destination of a walk I did from Melrose, Scotand; the St Cuthbert's Way. I spent two days on the island and the stay was incredible. Thanks
I stayed at Wooler YH in September. I cycled over to the Island and enjoyed my visit very much. Not sure about peace and tranquility though. There is one heck of a lot of people swarming the island every day. Maybe need to get an early morning window I suppose to get the place to yourself. Great vid and music by the way.
@BUTTS59 Thank you :) Yes there was quite a few when I went, the local people were selling sandwiches from the their gardens! lol...beautiful area, the whole coastline has so many places to see, thanks for watching :)
I thought it was a great video, I live near the island and a fasnated by the history of it. There is one thing I did not see which is worth adding is the fact that St Cutsbart lived there and died there. You can see his tomb in Durham Catherdral. I have seen it once.
I loved this place, I went there when I was pregnant but couldnt do the walk to castle (I made it as far as the ice cream van! lol) but I went back in 2008 and loved it!
Outstanding photography, you are right it is a shame that photography is not a loud inside some of our historic buildings. Hubby and I are thinking of joining the National trust. This is an amazing insight to British history and the music is exquisite. Thank you Lady Lisa x Lady♥Q *****
I am so pleased you enjoying my video's :) I thought about joining the national trust too, but I am not sure I could make good use of it right now with a three year old... I think over the next few years I will be visiting more trains and farms! lol.. thanks again :) Lisa
I loved It.you are so lucky to live in such a pretty and wonderful country.someday i hope to go there.theres so much history.i love castles.i hope to see one .and all the stone circles.great video.the place looks wonderful.blessed be.many blessings
Thank you for a vibrant look into your country's awesome history. I can imagine the surprise of the castle builders when the tide would make the fortress almost impossible to attack. I wonder of the great men and I guess maybe women who lived and fought under those conditions. The strength and character of those warriors must be fearsome to behold. You there walking among the rooms they planned and plotted and perhaps died in. The cemetery is lonely and beautiful in its character. Music coolest
Ah,Lisa....You are the only one I know that can post an eight minute video that ends too soon!! This is the best...you should be getting paid by the National Trust...again,as always, thanks for bringing me along...xoxo tom
Lisa, very much so...you have no idea how much I look forward to your videos,to traveling with you to all of these cool places.I am hooked on YOUR England!
Excellent job on this video, Lisa. Bravo! I love the history narrative you've included. I remember when you went here, I think it's so fabulously cool about the sea twice a day. Beautiful photos, gorgeous video!
I think about 1 or 2 pm! lol..... I have no idea, but I think so... its on the right as you look down on England, about five hours above me, just below Scotland :)
Lol thank you Dave... I knew you would like this one... there was so much history it was hard to know how much to add, I figured people will google it if they want to know more.... see, you can see why I tell people don't worry about visiting London huh? There is so much hidden treasure on this island! :) thanks x

@BUTTS59 If you stay on the island after the tide is in the place seems to go to sleep - I've never seen a more quiet! You get one or the other!
