It's not the same with the blue fairy at the point. Thank god when I saw it back in 2004 she was leading this spectacular show. They also need to bring back sleeping beauty dragon. Other than that, huge nostalgia trip. Thanks you for posting.

As a person who has already been 5 times in WDW I can say that the "Spectro Magic" song was so much better that this one! It used to bring tears to my eyes every single time! This new tune is so shalow and meaningless... The show is still amazing, but the song is awful! Where is the magic????? Where is that wonderful orchestra? I'm really frustrated...

@MBrilhart TY! it's quite interesting how their are a few fkloats in Spectro that resemble floats that are or used to be in the MSEP. the majority of the Finale floats and Arriel's Spectro float are prime examoples (her float closely resembles the old Pinocchio Underwater float although they are not even the same float as the floats for Spectro were built from the ground up in WDW's Central Shops

LOVE this parade, but they need to have the ORIGINAL music from the ORIGINAL parade. This has been redone. It's ok, but if you remember the parade was in its glory (before 1991), you'll know what I mean. And it wasn't the Magic Kingdom proudly presents ... it was Walt Disney World proudly presents ... the Main Street Electrical Parade!! Still, it's nice to see it back.

Notice that the family did ending up buying many orange groves and strawberry fields (my friend's family owned them) around the land in order to expand and Anaheim will never be the same :)

Just like you or I can't be here at our home, our Disneyworld at the same time, Tinkerbell can not be leading the parade, and in the pirateship at the same time. There can't be two of me, or two of tinkerbell. As for the "marketing." Walt Disney originally built Disneyland not only for parents and kids to have fun together, but to also promote his films.

Disney did promote his films in his park, but the Electrical Parade was engineered after his death, therefore your comparison is invalid.

She still serves roughly the same pourpose, her pixi dust lights the way for the parade, and I personally love how the pixidust trail is incorporatd into the parade. Disney has to change things over time to appeal to a newer generation. Without these changes, Disney would fail.

But it's the return of Electrical Parade in Magic Kingdom, since the Original Electrical Parade has now ended it's run, but some of the floats I missed was The Blue Fairy and Dumbo's Circus.

The parade will be staying at WDW for the forseeable future for two reasons. One is that California Adventure is one big billion dollar construction project at the moment. Half of the parade route is flanked by construction walls. Pixar Play Parade operates on only a portion of the overall parade route at this time. The other reason being World of Color. The parade route goes right behind the show and the powers that be wanted to push WOC over the parade as their new pet project.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE MSEP.... it was my favorite thing at WDW as a child and we are heading to WDW specifically to see the parade. I can't wait. I haven't seen it in years and this will be my son's first time. I am so excited. Apparently the clown float didn't affect me as much as others because I actually didn't remember it. I miss the Blue Fairy at the beginning, but I love Tink so I won't complain about the change.

Even though its on its in WDW now, its great seeing back on Main Street USA where it belongs and not at California Adventure, but it is returning back to CA in a few years, hopefully back in Disneyland.

So when Spectro is done being refurbished, it will stay at MK for about a year cause it's rumored that Paris will get Spectro for their 20th anniversary and MK will get Fantillusion. DEP will return to DCA by March of 2011 since they are rearranging that parade route for it.
