You're exactly right. It's like the "peacekeepers" in Kosovo; they can't do shit, they can't pursue the militants, they can't fire on a threat preemtively, they can't leave their posts so the fuckin killers just operate around them. They don't even have a real presence because they can't defend the civilians. WHAT'S THE FUCKING POINT?! The only thing the UN has ever really done is get western europeans, americans, etc. out of third world countries, and maybe send supplies that just get stolen.
