i did this with my guitar-hero-drums. It´s a little bit more difficult to use the mod, but i managed to do it. i had problems with double notes and so on, now it´s really funny to play the drums. without unfair double-notes. =)

I edited this for my Band Hero set, I put socks on the pads with broken (yes, broken.) GHWT Cymbals on them, to quiet the drum set and increase sensitivity. Also i ripped my RB1 rubber pads off them and put them on one of them and the two cymbals.

@clayton998 tape is what i originally used in the first version of this mod: tape compresses the pads, but it also transmits vibrations between the pads more, meaning you'll get crosstalk between the pads if you only use tape.

the socks dampen the vibrations and crosstalk, getting the benefit of compressed pads without the downside of increased vibration on each hit.

@bipolarninja217 it's because of the way the EL kit is built: QM kits are built with the sensor and pad raised higher up than the EL kit, so when you do this, it squeezes them down into the shell farther and keeps them there, so your hits register better.

On an EL kit, this squeezes the pads so tight that it actually causes the sensor to "stick" and it won't really register much at all, making it worse than before.

The GH kit has some sensitivity issues at time, but can be adjusted.

You're going to need to download the drum tool on the red octane web site ans also a midi to usb cable, available from amazon or free from Guitar Hero support.

because the holes in the back allow the electricity to get to the socks easier. Ever head that when you rub your feet on a carpet you can shock somebody? Well the socks interfere with the wires, taking the electricity from it. Making it a little less powerful so that crosstalk isn't able to perform. Get the theory?

well if you havent picked it up already the socks DO NOT matter. the only reason it makes the drums more responsive is because the rubber bands are bringing the pad closer to the sensor....
