HST force me to move to Alberta... My wife used to be a Sushi chef and when the HST came in, Restaurants took a major hit (because it wasn't included before)... she lost her job so we ended up moving to Alberta. If the tax only included what was in the pst/gst then I wouldn't object to it... but it is nothing but a tax grab.
I don't trust Rafe any more than I would if he told me the Canada Line should be redesigned. He has no expertise. The people who study these issues for a living - economists - are basically unanimus that the HST is a good thing.
Rafe is great. I trust Rafe more than I would ever trust Zalm. i'm really hoping that BC voters realize what is really happening with this tax. The scary part is how people are run by the fear generated by the financial crisis...and what effect this will have on the choice people make... I don't think many people really use their brains on this topic....
I really like Rafe Mair so I'm really surprised he has taken this position. He is a very bright guy and thus I scratch my head. I can't say this video really helped me understand his defending his position. The Zalm is SO disingenuous....dare I say ....deceitful. Its all well and good being "populous" but at the cost of manipulative, inflammatory deceit.....
