Vinyl will not die nor will tape. Tape is really making a comeback by the way. It never really died for hip-hop heads. However I was shocked to learn that there are new tape music labels. If you make vinyl product people will buy it, maybe not in mp3 sale figures but some will scoop it up. I plan on producing tapes (to mail), vinyl(for old dj friends), cd as a backup give away promo and mp3 for the web sales. Wish me luck.
@acebeatnetwork Daaaaam that's too bad. They're aout to close Fat Beats in the village, so the only place you can still buy vinyl is Rock n Soul on 36th/7th ave. the net done changed the vinyl mgame 4ever. Thanx for the heads up tho.
Acebeatnetwork, I think you needed to use warmer microphone equalization, with more low midrange, and just a touch of reverb, for your vocalists. I can hear that they all have full singing voices, and proper technique, but the first singer (Jaque?) in particular sounded a bit tinny, with a strange overtone. The mic was too "hot' too. That's why the third singer (Diamond Temple?) fed back.
It's great that you did it in the first place! If you have plans to do more shows. I'd be willing to show you how I might help, without asking anything, as an introduction. It's not hard to get to Newark, I live on L.I. Sounds like you have an all-digital setup, they can lack warmth. A lot of people have had success with a tube (that's right) microphone preamp.
Just to add.......this is the deep, soulful, underground stuff. No fancy lights, extra dancers, special effects, etc. The music is what makes the performance!!!!!!!
wow!! amazing

WOW! I just learned something! I googled Acebeat NJ. ITs a house music store in Newark NJ!!!!
I had no idea there were any good dance music record shops left and I NEVER heard of this one!
I'm so going to plan a trip here soon and bring at least 100.00 to spend on 12"s.

Where is deep house played in NJ these days? I want to go out and hear real dance music like this, not that top 40 rubbish.
