  • I am Japanese. I agree totally with MrBladeTeam. Read Kimiko's interview with Japanese media , and she never said in any way that Venus cheated at all. Yes, Kimiko lost but not bitter at all and did not criticise Venus in the way she played. She was very happy to play good tennis against a great player like Venus and it personally gave her a lot of confidence.

  • It's great that Venus served well, because she certainly did not move to her potential here

  • I read both interviews after the match and they were nothing but complimentary of each others play. As they should have been. Date also mentioned that Venus was missing match play. Stop with all the negative drama.

  • Just wanted to mention that the word "cheater" is a mistranslation made by someone. No way she speaks others like that, especially for Venus!! There was an inverview right after this match and she talked about this match with full respect to the power and skill of Venus.

  • She called Venus a cheat? For what?

  • @magicpaint She said that Venus was missing her ball toss on purpose so that she could see her positioning better or some shit. Venus does not need to cheat. Kimiko lost and she was bitter.

  • I can't believe Kimiko called Venus a cheater. I thought Japanese people were more respectful than this?!?!

  • What an exciting match!! Thank you for the highlights

  • This match made me like kimiko until the interviews and she called venus a cheater SMH!!!

  • @MrBladeTeam She NEVER called Venus a cheat, her command of the english language isn't great and the reporter asked her if she thought Venus was throwing up the ball and catching it on purpose to throw her off. Kimiko said maybe I don't know, then some sensationalist journalist took the line and fabricated it into this big deal and people like you believed it. The handshake is all you need to see in this match to tell you the respect between these 2.

  • 18:00. brilliant point.

  • Kimiko hits the ball so early, takes so much time from Venus.

  • If Kimiko had more stamina, she could've won. But on the other hand, if Venus was in her form, it could've been an easy one for her. Hats off for both ladies.

  • Can't imagine how well Kimiko would be if she were 10 years younger. She is just amazing.

  • Wow in my opinion this was the best womens match of 2011.

Its always fun watching this again.

    thank you.
