To what degree Global Warming -- if at all -- is advancing, one thing is for sure: it is not the effect of human activity. Earth emerged from an Ice Age thousands of years ago. It's the natural cycle of things to come. Ron Paul is absolutely right on his Cap and Trade stance.

Which would make sense, if what we were experiencing was due to changes in earth's orbit. (i.e. The primary cause of ice age cycles)

However that takes tens of thousands of years. Not decades.

There is no known natural mechanism that could cause what we're seeing.

And as mentioned, Ron Paul is basing his "stance" NOT on actual evidence. But merely a "petition" largely of people without relevant credentials.

If he doesn't give a crap about evidence, that's not science.

sir, science has become the new christianity, in that, Al Gore has become the pope, all must follow his word without question, if you do, you lose your "credentials" and become a heretic. how else could one man take less than 200 years of hard data, string it out over the millions, billions, or trillions of years, and call it "widely accepted". The math invovled should make everyone at least skeptical of his position and opposed to any knee jerk regulations that will tank the economy.

What if farmers got paid because everything they growing in their fields is consuming carbon dioxide and spewing out fresh clean oxygen. They want to tax dairy farmers for methane production, then you gotta credit them for producing oxygen right? Oh yeah, this is the USA...what was I thinking?
