  • I SO love this movie.. and the score is utterly beautiful

  • OMG its the grinch

  • fus...ro dah?

  • figured out that they were not actual monsters and figured what the movie was about halfway through! but seriously there are actually people in real life who live like this cut of from the rest of us-The Real World..now thats wired/scary..

  • the movie was great, why did people hate it? its an ingenius idea.

  • who was wearing the costume in this scene? it cant be noah because hes with them

  • @airborne4lf Someone of the elders, maybe.

  • Adrien Brody is a magnificent actor for pulling off the role of Noah. Tough position to fill and he more than nailed it.

  • how do you get the clips from the movie onto a youtube video?

  • Never lets go of her hand....LOVE!!!

  • so if red is the bad color what happens when the ladies get their period?

  • The music is so nice. i feel it

  • SCARY!!!!!!

  • love, love, love this movie!

  • why didnt they whip out the guns and swords and fight?

  • @popetottle I dont know if your looking for the real answer , but here it is anyways. They didn't own any guns or swords because thats excactly why they split from the other villages. They wanted to get away from deciet, power, violence, and money which is a very large source of greed nowadays.

  • @KingLoop13

    What about pitchforks or hammers?

  • @McCbobbish hahaha i dont know. guess its just what movies do.

  • My favourit film. And this is the most emotional shene.

  • shyamalan is te only director who can scare u without spilling blood.

  • @karthikthomask LOL no. Go watch Rosemary's Baby for just one example of a much better movie by a much better director.

  • @karthikthomask Exactly, the acting is just horrifying!!!

  • @1424nathan this movie was great, I'd like to see you act better, these actors are great!

  • @karthikthomask And that's why he's such a good director, except for when he did The Last Airbender. I think he forgot he's got talent when he made that film.

  • @i think he was attempting something new ..which went horriblyy wroong.. but i hv faith tht he willl comeback with his afterearth!!

  • @karthikthomask

Alfred Hitchcock was also known for scaring his audience without showing the violence and in most cases any blood.

  • @karthikthomask Ever heard of Alfred Hitchcock?

  • Favourite scene of the whole film. Wrote about it in Film Studies. Got an A. Love it more now :3

  • hate those monsters but love the movie<3 those beasts scare the shiiit out of me lol

  • fuck the critics who trashed this movie.

  • this scene was just beautiful.

  • does anyone know the name of the character in the watch tower?

  • @sawred22 michael pitt if i don't go wrong :)

  • i love the music in this!!!

  • MANBEARPIG!!!

  • Love this part. He like drops the freaking wooden door on his head. XD LOL exactly what cchockey911 said.

  • i like how when he sees the creature he lets the door fall on his head

  • I just wished the creatures were real. I think the movie would have done better if it had actually taken place back in the day. No twist or anything.

  • "oh my god the killing creatures are here! I'll just wait about 30 seconds before i warn those i love that they're in grave danger."

"....mkay, i've procrastinated long enough, now i'll crawl slowly to the bell"

    lol

  • This MOvie scared the shot out of me man!

  • If you have a good eye for historical clothing, you'll notice that a huge clue of that the town is not what it really seems you'll notice the clothing stlye range from the late 1800's to the early 1900's...

  • el violin de esa escena es lo mejor

  • I disagree about the plot. I thought it was a pretty unique idea and done quite well. I think people hate it because they don't get the last scenes and feel betrayed. But that's the idea, it is a cover up for what is really the truth and the film delivers that reality quite effectively.

  • I dont get why everyone hates this movie, I thought it was a good movie with an intresting idea behind it

  • ; its ironic & funny how the creatures are called "Those We Do Not Speak Of " and yet they're spoken of so many times throuqhout the movie :L confuses you doesn't it and it kind of reminds me of Hary Potter (Voldemort/ He who shall not be named) :D

  • For a movie that wasn't so great plot-wise, it has some really great cinematography and the score is especially wonderful.

  • I don't understand why everyone is afraid of one thing, like theres probably some dozen or so guys at the village, they can murder the thing when it comes instead with like pitch forks and stuff.

  • I only hated the ending, it sucked.

  • This movie wasn't a horror movie but it thoroughly creeped me out. the whole vibe I got from it was so.....supernaturally weird. the people in it are weird too. like lucius or whatever his name is. and when the special guy is chasing her in the forest at the end and hes dressed up? i peed my pants i was so scared. and now i've terrified myself so much, that i can't sleep. great.

  • this is a brilliant scene

  • The most underrated movie in the history of movies.. I love the music that starts when he holds her hand.

  • What are the monster things?

  • @MrDann011 Those We Don't Speak Of. :3 Literally. That's their name. xD You should see the movie. ^^

  • @littlechefrulez I did :D

  • That wasn't exploration, that was gamesmanship, and sure, 50 years was off. But the key point stands: there is very little, nearly no liquid water in the universe that we know it about or have access to, so it wouldn't be all that suprising for aliens to have problems with it. The movie sucked, all these half-assed racists are idiots, and you're still a young padawan.

  • the retard just kills me XD

  • this flik sucked!!!

  • This is My Favorite Scene in the whole movie!! I just Love it when he comes and takes her hand!!! Makes me go "Awwww" every time! <3

  • love!

  • 3:24 fucking epic!

  • why would you go to the edge of the fort when they can climb trees and pull you down xP but i FREAKIN LOVE LUCIANOUS!!!!!!!<3 <3 <3

  • M Night Shyamalan summarized :

    1) Sixth Sense

    2) Tie: Signs+Unbreakable

    3) The Village

Last Airbender, Devil, Happening = Toilet!!!

  • i cant believe this scene wasn't remembered : (

  • Can anyone tell me who plays the violin on this track please? brilliant scene

  • @MrWilliewhite I believe Hilary Hahn played the violin for this score

  • @Maddiizz great Thanks !!!

  • Talk about Good Scenes in Bad Movies. The music is nothing short of stunning.

  • I must admit, this is probably one of the best directed scenes i have seen.... Suspenseful music building up as the blind girl awaits for her lover at the door and right at the climax of the music, he comes and grabs her hand, shuts the door and leads them all to safety

  • Boring film more like a love story than thrilller!

  • yeah, they'll never get through a closed door...

  • start of the movies was like what there are dinosaurs in the forest then what there are manbearpigs in the forest that love the colour red then what there arnt any monsters at all its all a lie then what there really are monsters and there going to kill the blind chick then what there are no monsters it was the crazy guy in a suit??????????? WHAT A TWIST :P

  • so theres not really monsters in the woods? what a twist lol

  • one of the best scenes in all movie history.

  • 3:25 the best scene, and that music oh god !! must see it again

  • 2:09-2:17 use to creep me out

  • I forgot how dire this film is. Ron Howard's daughter is not much of a actress, it's clear that daddy made some calls.

  • 2:12 is easily the best part of this movie, when the Skeksis wanders into the shot and gives an embarrassed little wave and grunt to the camera.

  • Oh my gosh when the creature appears at the bottem of the trap door, I screamed when I first saw this. And I had it on high def too.

  • I love that part when Ivy is waiting for lucius to grab her hand it's priceless. Love that music when it happens. Makes it complete:) Wish I could trust and love someone that much...

  • That part when Ivy has her hand out and Lucius almost always makes me tear up it's so amazing:)

  • That part made me piss my pants

  • 3:24 = <3 love it.

  • This movie deserves to been seen at least twice. The second time you look for the romance, the music, and you realize the scary parts are only a PART of the whole movie. And, yes, I will dance at their wedding.

  • The second time I saw this I quite enjoyed it......the first time at the cinema I found it a little dissapointing as I was expecting the Shyamalan shock treatment...

  • 3:25, thats what i call a fucking good editing movie, amazing job, the music, the acting, the whole thing. amazing Just brilliant

  • Shyamalan is one of the most brilliant directors ever. Screw Speilburg. His movies don't hold as much meaning and symbolism as Shyamalan.

  • adrien brody is just brilliant!

  • I just saw this movie tonight... damn, one of the best ones EVER. Touching. Different. Fascinating. Beautiful acting.

  • This movie had the dumbest twist ending in film history.

The people were scared of crime....so they build a fake society and trick their kids into thinking they live in some old-timey monster-infested forest?

    sheesh.

  • @kuwinsitall its original. everything nowadays has been done.

  • @enterjcs

NO way has everything been done. There's millions of unexplored ideas. Do you know how many stories out there haven't been developed into films? Look as scifi, for example. Read some Arthur C. Clarke and you'll realize how many dozens of his books would be amazing movies. I suggest the "Rama" series....would be epic.

I'd agree that it is original in a sense, but not really. All M. Night does is twists at the end. It's not clever any more after you do it 6 times.....

  • @kuwinsitall each twist he does is new and brilliant, M Night is an amazing director who comes up with original and mind bending movies. and a lot of the movies that are made these days have just gotten their ideas from past movies

  • @froodsbag

What about the twist in "Signs"? It was completely retarded. Aliens get defeated by.....water? They can conquer interstellar space, but don't realize that 75% of the Earth is covered by a substance that can kill them?

That is an awful twist, and ruined what was a pretty suspenseful movie up to that point.

  • @kuwinsitall

Its not about technology. Its about poetry. The movie would not be as beautiful if they brought out lasers now would it? Water makes perfect sense in the context of the movie.

  • @MrSantaClaws1001

I understood the poetry aspect of it and all, but just thought that no species would be defeated by cups of water. That's all it took? These have to be the dumbest aliens in cinema history.

  • @kuwinsitall why? their bodies are obviously not built the same way as ours. it's not illogical to suggest.

  • @LiloPelakai

You're missing the point. It's not that a species can't physiologically be affected by water....it's just that you'd think that any species that could conquer interstellar space would know one of the most abundant elements in the universe, and be smart enough to put on some protective suits or something.

Heck...they can create spaceships to travel star to star....but a cup of water takes them down?

Major flaw. Actually, a fatal flaw in the movie. Could've been great....

  • @kuwinsitall The fact that you critique it in that manner makes you a dumbass, because the movie's central story doesn't even need the aliens to work. Are you going to critique the physics of Pokemon next? If movies/books were realistic no one would fucking watch/read them.

  • @gatchAttk

Lol. Willing suspension of disbelief is easy to uphold when watching a good film, like "Alien". Of course we know it's not real....but a movie like "Signs" or "The Village" just reminds you just how awful film can be, and how you wish you didn't waste your time on it. I don't ask for realism....just that movies attempt to make sense so I'm not laughing when I walk out.

  • @kuwinsitall It does make sense for what it does, so you just contradicted yourself in the same sentence. Lord of the Rings makes no sense, Star Wars makes no sense; no they make no sense by random standards that you seem to pull out of your ass...but they make sense for the universe they're in. You're an idiot.

  • @gatchAttk

So....the Village is in a different universe, like Star Wars or Middle Earth? Kinda seems like it was modern-day America.

    Lol.

    You're getting funnier.

  • @kuwinsitall You're an idiot. You missed my point entirely, and you know it. You're probably some smug fat ass with no friends.

  • @gatchAttk

You failed to retort to my point that comparing Village or Signs to LOTR or Star Wars is silly....so you must have no answer.

And nope, I'm married, have a kid and plenty of friends.

And educated....you should try it. Take a logic or debate class.....it might help you out here.

  • @kuwinsitall No, you missed my point entirely, so from my standpoint I'm thinking you're an idiot. Btw, are you jewish or black?

And you don't have kids or a wife. No way, buddy. : ]

  • @gatchAttk

Jewish or black?........what are you, some kind of racist jerkoff?

No, I'm white. And yep, have a wife and 1 kid. 13 months old. He's already smarter than you.

btw...i DESTROYED your point. You can claim all day that I missed it, it's just that you have no rebuttal!

    hahahahaha!!!!

  • @kuwinsitall Nah, you've gotta be some fat black kid sitting in his basement. Go pick my lettuce, nigger.

  • @gatchAttk

Wow. You're a racist, a bad guesser AND you love M. Night Shyamalan!

    FAIL.

I have no idea who you are so I won't even guess.

You suck at debate though....that's obvious.

You still haven't shot down my argument.

Guess you just have nothing to say, so you lash out about race.

  • @kuwinsitall Yo Jew Nigger, shouldn't you be in an oven?

  • @gatchAttk

Not very offensive to a white male like me.

Try again! You can do better than that...

  • @kuwinsitall So you're a white nazi? Wow, racist bastard.

  • @kuwinsitall, for a movie and director you so fiercely hate, you spend quite a bit of time arguing about it. You hate Signs because it's stupid they were defeated by water?

Of course you're the sort of person to be sitting in a cinema screaming "WHERE'S ALL DA GUNZ?!" so I guess the twist was too much. From the alien's standpoint, it could be stupid that humans are defeated by sharp pieces of metal. Or little metal and lead balls.

Also, you may have a wife and kids, but you're still a cunt.

  • @DancingJesus94

    blah blah blah....

    it's just youtube, chill out.

i don't "fiercely hate" anyone, I just think his movies have dumb twists. but yeah....signs had an awful ending. aliens would not be that dumb. they should know water hurts them....it's everywhere in the entire universe.

you must have a huge boner for M. Night....you really seem to care, lol. chill out

  • @kuwinsitall, your comments on this video go back six pages, and cover a two month period. I think you're the one who needs to 'chill out'. Then again, I shouldn't really be trying to argue with you, as it must be hard for a high-functioning autistic to raise a family, unless of course they're a figment of your imagination that you created so you could escape to a happy place when your father comes in drunk and invariably molests you.

  • @DancingJesus94

I was debating someone who began a debate. Kinda like you....you have little better to do.

    drunkenness? molestation? autism? huh?

that has to be one of the strangest rants I've seen in a while.

    troll.

  • @kuwinsitall ah no! the driving goal of most of our studies of stars and planets for the past 50 years has been precisely to find water, because it is not "everywhere"! We'd be colonizing like crazy if it was! It's pretty much just here! Pay Attention in school, young padawan, before you try to talk shit on the internet!

  • @wombwanders

I don't even know where to begin with that collection of wrong statements....

    1. Driving goal has never been to find water. It has been to understand the universe, period.

    2. We don't have the technology to even go to Mars now, let alone "colonize like crazy"

    3. Water IS everywhere. It's been found on the moon, Mars, Enceladus (a moon of Saturn), comets, interstellar clouds, the atmospheres of Jupiter, Saturn, Mercury, Venus, etc. etc.

Might want to study your science, bro.

  • @kuwinsitall In so far as we're trying to colonize, water is the mcguffin. "Understanding" as such is not a huge funding driver, and the reason why the water-centered stories are huge is because we've made it the index of the possibility of intelligible life, the discovery of which has always been (if covertly) a big friggin goal. Astrophysics doesn't often engage with water, but exploration nearly always does.

  • @wombwanders

Stories of water being found have only been big in the last decade or so, not the last 50 years. Early on, it was the race to space vs. the Russians. So no....water wasn't a funding driver at all. Beating the Soviets was. That's what the moon race was about. Ever heard of Ike's response to Sputnik? So yes, possibility of life is a big goal.....but no one was exploring to find water. You need to take a basic sciences class. Maybe a history course as well.

  • Clearly at some level "the technology is not there", but an important factor in that lack of development itself is a lack of the very large-scale water reserves, and the potential for earth-like eco-systems that they allow. It's not worth expending resources to colonize anywhere we can't develop sustainably, because there's no water.

  • A quote, for you, young padawan, "NASA's Cassini spacecraft may have found evidence of liquid water reservoirs that erupt in Yellowstone-like geysers on Saturn's moon Enceladus. The rare occurrence of liquid water so near the surface raises many new questions about this mysterious moon." yah yah yah speaks for itself. "Bro".

  • @kuwinsitall yes, someone should tell the story of your life.

  • @justwatching1980

maybe one of your youtube "favorites" Jessie J could tell it?

    lol.

    good taste there.....hahahahaha

  • Aww, it's touching how he takes her hand at the last moment and saves her.

  • @nasutar Yes, I found their relationship very touching. It almost brings tears to my eyes the amount of trust she puts in him and how he comes to her rescue at the last minute, taking charge and not skipping a beat.

  • Defiantly my favorite M. Night movie. A great story, outstanding music, a terrific film!

  • i absolutely loved this movie and the un expected "meaning" it had in it. This was more of a love story then a horror film, the fact that that the story took a shift at the mid way point really made me love this film.

  • this movie was beautiful in brilliance, music, suspense, and surprises.

  • @poposchiss....Me too, this was a great movie.

  • I think if this movie was released as an independent film, it might have had more recognition. There's always an assumption that an M. Night movie that's released in the summer is going to be a blockbuster. But if he'd done what Guillermo del Toro did on Pan's Labyrinth, This would be a cult classic film with "A" list actors rather than the boring horror movie everyone wants it to be.

  • ...i love how he just comes out of nowhere and takes her hand:)

  • This movie is about some uncircumcised bastards.

  • this is one of my favorite Shyamalan films, right before he sucked

  • Yes this movie is almost like Red riding Hood! lol

  • this movie sucked smelly butt

  • Wtf...... can anybody tell me what's happening?

  • I love suspenseful movies......................

  • this is an example of manipulation through fear.

    I love this movie

  • that creture felt dissed like what hhe was like yes my first girlfriend what?who are u?no she minds.damn these retarded spikes i cant open doors

  • Never understood why that idiot father would let his blind daughter go into the woods into town when is old ass could have done it himself. Dumb movie

  • @Tupacexpert cuz it symbolizes her journey to express her love for Lucious. If the dad did it, it wouldn't mean as much. Yeah, in a perfect world, the dad would go do it, but this movie is about love, and is supposed to encompass love, and Ivy going into the woods to save Lucious just strengthens that love motif.

  • Never understood why that idiot father would let his blind daughter go into the woods into town when is old ass could have done it himself. Dumb movie

  • this scene scared the pea out of me! i mean look aat the floor

  • Fricken hell the MUSIC!!!!

  • Does anyone know what song on the soundtrack this is in? (Specially at 3:25)

    Pleeeeease help!

  • @a3e1o1 the entire song is called "the things we dont speak of" this is the entire song, the ending is also part of the gravel road and a few others

  • God, the music. <3

  • This is one of my all time favorite movies, even more so than the sixth sense just because it wasn't just a thriller, it was a love story, it was creepy, it was pretty funny (to me anyways) and it had a really beautiful message. I think this movie would have done a million times better if it wasn't advertised as a horror film, just because when people go to a movie expecting to see a typical cliche horror and get something much better, They won't like it. I think this movie is totally underrated

  • Because this movie doesn't get stuck on the obvious, it disapoints a lot of cheap-thrillers. You need to be able to think a little above the normal to enjoy this great movie. If Hitchcock was alive, he would be directing movies like this.

  • wtf was Ivy doing at the door.

  • @WtfEggsBbq Waiting for Lucious.

  • the guy at the beginning was in funny games. anyone heard of ti?

  • @Calvatron4000 Yeah, that's a cool movie. I'm pretty sure he's also the guy from Boardwalk Empire.

  • this was the worst movie ever. scarey movie 3 was better ,why did Em Knight Somalian take it?

  • I dont care what anyone says. This is a CREEPY movie.

  • Thats some really bad discrimination.......

  • I shall save us all... with the power... OF SLOW MOTION RUNNING!!!!!

  • I thought this movie was terrible and yet i love slow drawn out films, this was the only good scene in the movie.

  • probly one of the best scens. this movie wasnt really scary but i love it. the love between ivy and luscious is so unique. and the music was so beautiful

  • 2:10 god, I was watching it at night and then IT COMES ON MY TV then I changed to cartoon network '-'

  • Love this scene! Out of curiosity could someone please post the scene when Luscious gets stabbed? I personally love that scene too because it was so unexpected and emotional.

  • "THE"

  • I wanted to unknown to bust in

  • what a stupid girl that didnt close the door. such an idiot

  • A great scene in a not-so-great film.

  • marvelous scene!

  • the ending of the movie was terrible

  • The people who hate this movie probably wouldn't understand Martian Child either or Saving Sarah Canaan, or other movies not based on nonstop senseless violence.

  • Thank god for this movie because it was so much BETTER in SCARY MOVIE 4 , I CANT STOP LAUGHING LOL

  • @VengefulTrait I liked this movie I hated Scary movie didn't watch more than a few minutes of Scary movie when free on tv because it was so stupid this movie is for people that use their brain to think.
