I think she did know it was Lucy. Because (SPOILER) at the end, when Sweeney is enraged at Mrs. Lovett because his wife is dead, Mrs. Lovitt says, "I didn't say she died, I just said she drank the poison." And Sweeney kills Mrs. Lovett for lying to him. Cooked in her own oven, yum! :)

Might be because she saidn Lucy (his wife) was "poisoned" and he took it as Lucy was dead, Mrs lovett never said she died, Sweeney found out she was the old hag he killed, and I guess he didnt forgive her for not telling him Lucy was alive, because she wanted to be with Sweeney instead of Lucy with him. Thats my thought, anyways.
