He's one of the very few that have complained about the solid rear axle and having it leaving you "with a little more to be desired." Drive either of the two cars it competes against and compare the IRS to solid axle.
@aquill1 agreed... nick and i disagree vehemently over this. i think the solid rear axle is just fine. but he moan and complains about it on a regular basis. suffice to say nick is just flat wrong.
@aquill1 I see this going both ways, and I totally see your point as well. From an engineer's point of view, the Mustang itself would have the *potential* for better handling with an IRS, it still is great for what it is and it outperforms many cars with independent suspensions.
So, it seems that what the engineers did to get the most out of what they had was more important than what they were starting with.
Which begs the question, how good would their IRS be? Godlike?
this video lost my attention at around 2 minutes. video could probably be 5 minutes without the rock and roll montages (some that are barely visible in the dark). wasn't patient enough to get to the probably well done review. i did hear the comment about the rough suspension at 6 minutes before i closed it. i'm glad somebody gave a real world opinion.

@tehjeffman we're defiantly planning on upgrading the suspension on the miata for the v8 swap when we get to that point. i'm not familiar with ast suspensions. what's their web site?
@burnoutradio ast-usa.com and best part is they are in plano. We have a NA and NB on 5100 and a NA on 5200. Switched over from tein flex and mono flex with great results. Fastest NASA TT cars are on them and Continental Tire Challenge is running them. Help and shop space is still open for when your get to building.
@tehjeffman sounds awesome. i'd love to talk with you more about it. shoot me an email at charlie at burnoutradio . com when you get a chance. suspension is actually the next step in our build up.
@felix954 we're working out an issue with getting logged in to the channel. the password i have for it is not working. tune in to carcare101 dot info for updates starting monday.
@Veyronp87 by lazy, nick most assuredly meant "charlie's been busy as hell working two jobs and took fooooorrrrreeeeevvvaaaarrrrr editing the miata review"
Sorry for spaming but: I drove the Fiat 500 here in germany and it is such a blast to drive. test it if you can, even with just 100bhp this car is amazing fun
And oh yeah: The Golf GTD that I tested also comes with an engine sound generator for the cabin. I never drove a diesel-car reving to 5000rpm with such great sound. And the DSG-doubleclutch....Boi oh Boi ^^

Ast 5100 or 5200 suspension or a v8 miata will not handle for crap.

Which car was more fun? The 370Z or the 5.0 Mustang?
JustAn0therNumb3r 10 months ago
@JustAn0therNumb3r my vote is for the stang. but then i'm a die hard ford fan. nick will of course say the 370z is better.
