There is a lens flare caused from a shiny surface area on or around the window frame. The one side of the swing is being lifted by the chain. The video camera does not show the upper half the chain - which leads me to believe somebody jury rigged it, whether thats the case or not - it could easily be duplicated. I dont buy that experts could not come up with an explanation. It screams of hoax. I've experienced the paranormal and this isnt even remotely a poltergeist act.

Okay. I am a parapyschologist who has studied all forms of the supernatural for twenty years. First rule, this camera is obviously not locked off (ie static) as it moves slightly up the picture. Secondly, this cries literally of fake as someone could be placed, lifting the chain up, out of camera view. Experts could not find any explanation? I just did in seconds.

Watch the video and observe. Specifically, watch the rope/chain that holds the seat up. Note the obvious pattern in said rope/chain. It's the same pattern you see in rope: multiple twines twisted around each other. Now note how, when the seat is 'lifted', the pattern of the rope/chain raises with it. This would *not* happen if it were lifted from the seat area. Put it to a test of your own.

I would like to say that some of the people that posted have good questions. However, none of them are needed. We don't need to see the top of the chain, nor do we need to know who the experts were, etc. There is only one thing we need to know this video is staged/fake.. our eyes.

Youtube is both good and bad for paranormal investigators. It's good because it makes it easy to share evidence with a very wide audience. It's bad because legit research must compete alongside silly hoaxes which are common and easy to produce. And the viewer often can't tell the difference. It is up to the researcher to very scientifically and methodically rule out any possibility other than paranormal. Because we can't see the chain tops, this video remains in question, unfortunately.

2 eye-bolts screwed into ceiling joists. 2 small pulleys attached to eye-bolts. 2 thin, strong, flexible, quiet, nylon coated wires attached to chian links @ 8" down from pulleys. Someone in front yard pulls wires out at an angle parallel to the ceiling. That, or something similar, is a possible explanation. However, if hoaxing is ruled out (impossible to do on a youtube video, BTW), then I don't have an explanation either.

There's just one thing that could make this more believable. Look at the position the swing is in when it's being lifted. It remains stationary. Think about it...if you lift a swing by it's chain, even at the topmost part of the chain, that swing is going to swing back and forth. Try it next time you're at a playground.

Convincing, but there is still a small possibility that it was faked. Note that you couldn't see where the rope connects to the roof. It was out of view. It is possible to fit a small mechanism to the underside of the roof that pulls on the rope. And this has been done before.
