This song was written by George Jackson and Tom Jones, but was re-written into the song you know today by Bob Seger. Bob Seger used The Chorus of "I like that old....soothes my soul......days of old....old time rock and roll", and re-wrote all of the verses.

He was told to claim a third of the writing credit by his Manager, but said "nah, nobody will like it". The Silver Bullet band was displeased at its inclusion on "Stranger in Town", but due to fans reaction on tour, grew to like the song.

THE VOICE !! He is Welsh...not British or English !! Welsh is NOT a dialect it is a language of its OWN.

My grandfather was from Ferndale, Wales....in mid-glamorgan near to where Tom Jones was born.
