Angie Stone is amazing and strong. She was in the group "The Sequence" and the "Vertical Hold" and now a successful Solo artist! Do you people realize she was out as early as 1979!!!! "Funk You Up" was a successful rap song back then and she still is going strong. Unvalued artist and Agie is a Legend in my book. 30 years of making music!!! WOW!!! I've been looking for this song & this group for years. I only saw the video once. I loved it then it disappeared & the group just faded. This song is incredible, i remember when i was in elementary school and it used to come on the radio back in the day. I am 24 years old now and the chorus just popped up in my head while i was at work twice lol. I didnt even know that Angie Stone was the singer! The lyrics and the beat are beautiful. My father listened to all of the oldies so i cant help it. I appreciate the older music more now though, it was more meaning back then. We need more of that nowadays.
