well, you're pretty impressive in your analysis,(multiverses, etc..)but the real reason that the apes are speaking english is probably so that they could sell more movie tickets
I don't understand it. When he said, "You finally did it." Who is this you he is talking about. The humans or the apes? Because I was thinking the humans because it was the humans that drove to their extinction which during that event couldve blow up the statue of liberty, or was it the Apes that blew it up to keep the secret hidden? Can someone please explain it to me? Thanks.
@FireStormBaller when dr. zaius blows up the cave to obscure the more advanced human, pre-simian civilization, the clincher was the talking doll in the form of a human--this is precisely the reason the statue of liberty was chosen--because it was the in the image of a human, revealing what happened to higher social ideas concerning art and liberty at the hands of the apes. because of these 2 strong parallels, the modeled human form showing intelligence & demolition, he is referring to the apes
@turquoise770 No, it's the humans that blew up the statue of liberty long ago. He said "we finally did it." Because the apes couldn't take over the planet unless the humans totally destroy themselves first. And during all the chaos, the humans destroy the statue of liberty. When Dr. Zaius blew up the cave, all it did was blow up the entrance, covering it, and you can clearly see that it didn't reach the statue of liberty.
@FireStormBaller well, i didn't mean the exact demolition of that cave, but a parallel--talking doll=statue of liberty, blowing up cave by apes to hide pre-ape civiliz.=blowing up of world by apes to conquer humans. you may be right tho because he does say "we". however if you go back into other planet of the ape movies, do you remember the nuclear weapon that was hidden underground--even tho the humans had they one, maybe the apes got access to others...however the "we" does make a strong case
@turquoise770 Parallel =/= talking doll =/ statue of liberty, blowing up cave by apes to hide previous civilization =/= blowing up of wolrd by apes to conquer humans. I'm not may be right, I am right. Maybe the apes didn't got access to others, maybe is nothing.
@FireStormBaller perhaps they wanted it to be ambiguous, no one would no for sure about that twist ending except rod steiger and he's dead. maybe the people that worked on that movie screenwriting, etc. but to know for certain is impossible. i hear charlton heston is dead too, maybe nova is alive and you can get her e-mail and ask her, but she couldn't talk could she...
@turquoise770 Perhaps they didn't wanted it to be ambiguous, perhaps is nothing. I know for sure about that twist ending. To know for certain isn't impossible. Charlton Heston is dead. And I'm right about this and you're wrong. The humans blew off the statue of liberty.
@turquoise770 When Taylor says we, he isn't only assuming. He did know 100% who had done it, so do I. In the biginning of the movie, he explained why he and his comrades were on the spaceship, because the world was being corrupted and broken, but they wanted the human species to live so they sent them in this spaceship, and since they know it's a long flight, they put that vacuum and gas chamber so they don't age as much and sent them to another planet to restart.
@turquoise770 Dr. Zaius said that that place with the statue of liberty used to be a paradise until the humans destroyed it, and in the other movies, it was the humans that used the atomic bombs, and the apes never touched it. Which the government and space program and Taylor was talking about. And I doubt he's assuming. Look at this scene, he's extremly emotional for a reason, and that for sure is not because he's assuming. So you're wrong and I'm right.
@FireStormBaller so according to your logic, the humans destroyed what was left so the apes couldn't have it, then moved underground, obviously suffering from some serious effects from radiation, and also having retained that 1 nuclear weapon--but on another video of this some commenter made the good point that he should have known he was on earth because all the apes were speaking english--how do you explain that?
@turquoise770 According to my logic, the humans didn't destroyed what was left so the apes couldn't have it, then didn't moved underground, obviously isn't suffering from some serious effects from radiation, and also isn't having retained that 1 nuclear weapon, but on another video of this some commenter didn't made the good point that he shouldn't have known he wasn't on Earth because all the apes were speaking English.
@turquoise770 The universe is infinite, with infinite possibilities, nothing is impossible. The infinite multiverse theory. There's a theory that there are infinite universes. Because there are infinite universes, there are universes that are exactly different, a little different and a little similarities, and universes that are exactly the same. Now let's say the universe is infinite, because the universe is infinite, there is a possibilty that in another world
@turquoise770 that the organism there are speaking different than English, similar to English, or exactly the same as English. So comes to the question of this, well if that's true, then isn't it possible that this is just another world that is a little different, with the statue of liberty blown up in a different universe? Well, as the movie implied, that it was Earth all along, just like how it showed that it was the humans that blew up the statue of liberty, not the apes.
@turquoise770 Just because Earth is the only planet known to speak English, doesn't mean other planet can speak English. Even Earthling doesn't speak English, I know some that doesn't. So the same can be said that Earth is the only planet known for having apes and horses, so shouldn't he know he's on Earth to begin with? So with that said, then another planet could have coincidently have a statue of liberty blown up on another planet in this infinite universe.
@turquoise770 But as I mention before, the movie implied that it was Earth all along. And explained that it was the humans that blew up the statue of liberty, not the apes. So I'm right, you're wrong.
@turquoise770 Simply put it, look at the aliens in DC comics. They were born on another planet, raised on another planet, but no explaination, they are fluent in English. Zod from Superman is an example.
@turquoise770 Oh, I got it now. He thought what happened to him, happened in Planet of the Apes 2001. They were on a different planet, but the apes there also speak English.
On the anniversary of 9/11, BARACK OBAMA, the leader of Al-Qaeda has DECLARED WAR ON THE UNITED STATES, which signifies the beginning of all out RACE WAR between White people and African Americans.
@crr463 U R so right! The other's in the series are pieces of garbage and don't even make sense. A culture that has no knowledge of electronics or flight can repair a sunken space-craft and fly it into space? Let's both pretend the other films never existed.
Best surprise last scene ever... too bad it's been spoiled by endless references and even the graphic on the DVD cover. I remember seeing it for the first time in 1972, and getting goosebumps. It was amazing before everyone jumped on the spoiler bandwagon. Such a shame.
@Ownmanship: if you hadn't been exposed to the last three decades of pop culture, you would not have seen it coming. Perhaps you would have thought it would be an interesting twist, but you wouldn't have known for sure.
