  • The song had Prince written all over it from the get go, lol

  • life itself is pretty much provocative, our friends think. thanks again,SE!

  • wow...just compare it to the music today....

  • She is 100% right right on Sheena

  • Why do people always make a big deal about others losing their accent. If you live in another country for more than twenty years, you are going to lose your accent. I am proud to be a Sheena Easton fan for 30 years. She has class unlike Gerard Butler who is a hyprocrite. Criticizing Sheena for having an American accent, yet look at him. He has only been in the states two years and he now says he is losing his Scottish accent.

  • @hoopsgyrl Hoopsgyrl, you hit the nail on the head about Gerard Butler! I read an interview he gave, in which he says he threw shoes at Sheena for speaking with an American accent. Then he says he has to do the American accent because he's an actor, so he lapses into American terms like "soccer"instead of football when he's off-guard. I mean, that's just a lame, cowardly excuse!

  • Such a cutie, love her looks and accent.

  • @skipper8257 ..She doesn't have this Scottish accent anymore. She decided to further her career in the US with a fake American accent.

  • " my sugar walls " lmfao ....

  • Damn, that accent. Awesome.

  • Typical USA hipacritical Victorianism in the media.

  • Amazing Voice ... she should do House and trance tracks these days..She would be a hit

  • i so remember her when i was kid..

  • lol "provocative lyrics" they better not listen do todays Gaga and Co. :-P

  • Comment removed

  • ...the again Olivia Newton John was banned for "Physical"...lol a different time.

  • It was simply the wrong time and era for her.

  • Typical narrow minded atttitude from the critics...war is more acceptable??

  • Its ridiculous there was so much hot air about this song.males are constantly releasing songs with sexual double meaning and no one bats an eyelid, but the moment a female does, theres uproar. While performing this on stage,Sheena had missiles thrown at her;lucky for them it wasnt me on stage cause i would have literally jumped into the crowd and strangled whoever it was! Its ok for a male to express his sexuality but when a female does, shes punished.

  • @musiclover77able It could just mean the walls of a bedroom, you know.

  • this was a good song in 85. i heard it on regualr radio the other day. she had a very limited voice but many of her songs are good.

  • @The096757 I don't agree that her voice is limited. She may not have a four-octave range, and she may have not engaged in the vocal histrionics of some of today's divas, but her voice was always very precise, liquid, and rather intense.

  • @The096757 Sheena had a 4 and a half octave voice. Definitely not limited in any way. Elastic is more like it.

  • i just love the songs she did with prince

  • I still love her...

  • We don't have problems of that sort today, The :N----rs have fixed that problem for all of us!

  • @howsziz .......interesting , please explain further.

  • @howsziz well said!

  • Compared to todays music, this is nothing.

    Love her accent.

  • "....with Sheena Easton as guest vocalist."

    Love her attitude and grit.

  • Best decade!

  • @E139486 agreed wish i lived during the 80s looked like such a fun time.

  • well once again the 80's worlds is full of morons

    and this video proves it

  • "only an innuendo"= lmao

  • Ha! Bobby Columby. The real controversy is why somebody gave Bobby an interviewing position. How does a one time drummer (Blood, Sweat And Tears) and long time record executive get this job?

  • What losers I can't believe whoever was trying 2 make such an uproar about this song. It's all their wining that makes it a scandal. Just leave it in peoples own mind 2 interpret it their own filthy way.Love this song though.Great song.Bet her "walls" R the sweetest too.

  • This means nothing today....lol. Amazing how much of a controversy this was in 85.

  • Uh, Sheena is alive and well.

  • hello

  • Sheena have changed since sing such a rude song. It reflects on her personality.

  • RIP Sheena, we already miss you

  • @DoctorBohr Did she actually die?

  • @kramer727272 No.

  • What a load of rubbish, how did any of us have children, I don't remember the stork arriving at my house, yes, shock, horror, I think it may have been sex

  • RIP Sheena Easton 1953-2011.

  • LMAO!!! MTV banned this back then?? Now look at the SHIT they show now!! LOL!!!

  • This girl is a great beauty and her Scottish accent is adorable.

  • I mess those sexy days of the early 80s coming out of the sexual revolution us gen xers had just missed but few of us had a brief taste ... AIDs brought the party to an end in the middle 80s.

  • I still love Sheena Easton, but I've always thought this song was a major miscalculation.

  • @yetanotherdavid Nooo, it was great and controversial, which has always served Prince well...and why not her?

  • come spend the night inside my va-gi-na!

  • @Chris242tt lmao

  • Dang look were we have gone from our 80 s to now.

  • @bigbrownlatino Songs back then were a hell of alot better then they are now. You had to use your imagination then but now there's nothing creative everything's just smacked right hard in your face. Artists today don't have the same creative genius.

  • @zxoopqui , I agree. Afterall, I was a teenager in the 80s. I miss those days. Music today, most of it , just bites.

  • @bigbrownlatino It aint just music too ... its all aspects of America, the quality went out the window.

  • shes lost her scottish accent.

  • Good gawd whats the big deal every woman has one and some men

  • @jessi1971 what men do you know that have sugar walls that's something I'd like to see.

  • @zxoopqui shemen

  • What does sugar walls mean?

  • @shawnspeed3 well, to put it simply, it means her pussy

  • @j7609 rotfl

  • @NYtoTX i know, but it's true. haha

  • @j7609 Geez, I did not know that. I just found out what a pearl necklace really meant after years of listening to that ZZ Top tune and not really getting it. Hey, I don't talk like that and none of my friends do either! Sheila Easton was woo hot!

  • @shawnspeed3 r u that dumb?

  • what ever happened to robb weller?

  • God she's gorgeous.

  • Sheena, Annie Lennox, and Shirley Manson . . . best imports from Scotland. Love em and their voices.

  • whats the song at 1:33 :o?

  • @xKeepTheFaithx It's called Swear.

  • @BlueHeli

    thanks<3(:

  • Provacative? if i even spelled that right, Man people are REALY full of themselves! This is horse shit, If you dont like it, Dont listen to it, AND especially dont blame It for your kids problems.

  • Lol! Now look at what ppl are singing about now makes this sound like a disney song!

  • She loks like Boycie's missus in the music video.

    Marlene!!!

  • lmao

  • MTV banned something? ha

  • enuendo? LOL I was 14 when this came out and you couldnt get any closer to ear porn than this at the time, they knew EXACTLY what they were doing when they made this and i'll never forget the impact it had on my young teenage life LOL

  • I LIKE THIS SONG

  • I think Prince was taking the piss out of her "blood races to your private parts" then she raises eyebrows. Anyone else reckon she was a Muppet ? A good looking one, but a complete Muppet.

  • She is a SLUT....but in a good way! An 80s way!

  • Prince wrote it, what would you expect??

  • Prince could bring out the skank in any woman. What a lothario!

  • @journeythruthepast

    HA ikr(:

  • A beautiful woman with a great voice, versatility and presence (and lots of hits over 12+ years), but the mullet has to go!!

  • where is sheena now a days? kinda of a flash in the pan performer, perhaps?

  • @roaringwaterbay still singing in smaller venues. sheena's had a very long career and many hits. she is NOT a flash in the pan.

  • @daveheel i kno thats right, she only performs in small places now because when she adopted her kids she didnt want to be too busy not to be able to raise em...im sure if she teamed up with someone like will.i.am compared to when she teamed with babyface for lover in me, shed make a huge comeback.

  • Oh yeah- that accent. Total 80's presentation and style but she has a lot of talent. Beyond what we got to hear, I think.

  • Notice how women talked more softly back then.

  • @CreativeProfiteer98 now their loud, obnoxious, too giggly and say things that ain't ladylike...both on and off camera.

  • No , Wee means small in Scottish . The Wee Man is Prince , She was definitely shagging him in the 80s.

  • @sdenny well who wouldn't of? Every woman wanted him and he was the hottest thing of 1984. By 85 it was Madonna's year!

  • This song was crap and it's easy to see that now 25 years later

  • @MrLeagueOJustice then why the hell did you bother checking it out. I know you like Sheena and her hits or you wouldn't of taken the time to notice. Come on, it's okay to admit you love the glamorous Sheena E. Don't be shy. You need a middle aged, smart sophisticated woman, not a snot nosed Miley!

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    her face at 0.45!

    Fuckin hilarious! LOL

  • 2:19

  • Yeah....WTF !!!!!

  • Depends on how you take it? Oh come on, how else would you interpret 'sugar walls' unless you live inside a gingerbread house.

  • @TreeDwellnGnome

    Ha Ha. YOu nailed it.

  • oh well...such is life...to some, boring, to some, exciting, to some challenge, to some..blinded by some elements that cannot surpass...she's coming to vegas again, maybe i will get to watch her.i like her..she's ok.

  • OMG I used to be such a fan! Think I have this in cassette haha! AND PC DOES SUCK, BIG TIME!!!

  • The 80's was an incredibly reactionary decade.

  • I wouldn't shag her now after Prince.

  • i think sheena was shagging the wee man !!

  • @sdenny you meeaan! PEE WEE Herman "woooow flava flaaa!"

  • haha it has 80s Prince written all over it...

  • shocks the world? how?

  • This was the 80's! At the time is was shocking. We didn't have the Gangsta rap and Politically Correctness that we have to day. PC Sucks!

  • shelivade91 ! you're a dumb bitch..sheena couldn't have been too dumb, she made millions off this song..even our president liked it at the time

  • Lovely accent. And a really wonderful voice.

  • Olivia did the same thing with Physical. What do have to be a miss goody two shoes. I love them both.

  • Y'all are corny with your comments.

This is and was a fun song to dance to

  • Sheena Easton looks like last princess

    Diana.

  • what's the big deal here? this is pretty tame compared to what is played on the radio today. this was back in '85, a period where ultra-conservatism was at its peak, the whole decade was pretty much like a repeat of the 50s American pop culture. the power-driven economy had folks oblivious to everythingbut money. Just think, prior to this song, there were "She Bop", "Turning Japanese", "Come on Eileen", So WTF? we were too stupid to realize what these lyrics meant, yet we attack only on Sheena

  • Nothing do to with the 80's. American's were light hearted about these things back then, used to have a sense of humor. Today everything is taken literally, the slightest provocation of sex and you've got a carnage of left wing politicians, feminazis, and dick nosed PTA moms trying to get it banned.

As for the 80's being like the 50's, I'd say it's a two sided story, the 80's were socially liberal, politically conservative, the 50's was the whole package. Socially the 2000's are like the 50's.

  • realize that record labels promote this trendhopping more than the actual artist. they want to sell records and staying current usually helps.

  • im sure she knew what was going on, the label gets what they want. people want to be successful so they follow along. a record contract is a very hard to turn down, put yourself in her position, you would have done the same. its not that i support trendy bandwagon-hopping or anything im just not going to get mad about it. (im not too big of a sheena easton fan anyways)

  • @shelivade91 After kurt cobain no artist could fit in!Thank god grunge is over!!!

  • @Chris242tt Yeah but its sheep like Sheena Easton who were "fucked" the most when that shit happened.

Personally, I love the 80's "and" the 90's in so many ways. But I agree, Nirvana were a bunch a whores.

  • When she first to sing it was innocent music then it became more suggestive.Total nonsense

  • i don't speak English very well. Can someone explains me why "she shocks "the world? Thanks

  • I loved the song and it wasn't more suggestive than Rod Stewart's Tonights The Night" which I believe MTV played constantly -or even if it was more suggestive, so what!

  • MTV banned it. Now they have all those crap shows.

  • only Prince could make Sheena Easton a slut lmao,,,good thing he and Juice Newton never did a song together '

  • So what if it was a sexual reference, it's a beautiful and natural part of all of our (women's) bodies! I'd rather listen to this song then watch some horribly violent movie!!

  • Sugar walls are a biological body part like an arm or ear. What was the big deal back theN

  • this is her BEST song she ever recorded (sugar walls). she's a damn hot woman and has a great voice. why not use her natural talents to her greatest advantage?if she would have posed nude in playboy i would have bought it...and i'm gay. i do not understand why women who exercise their intelligence and sexuality are such a threat? sheeesh!

  • Actually this song went to #3 on the R&B charts and the album it was on, A Private Heaven was her biggest selling album in the US, EVER, so no it wasn't a bad career choice, it was actually a very good song and album!

  • To this point she had done very classy work, even settling for so-so sales sometime in the interest of quality art. After "Sugar Walls," which I thought was a bad bad career choice, it all began to fall apart.

  • You're right there. Prince ruined her with his sexually explicit song lyrics. I even thought that it was a pretty disgusting song to be played on the radio at that time. "Blood rushes to your private spots?" What in the hell was Prince thinking? I don't even know how Sheena could've agreed to sing that. Can you imagine if they had made a video that depicted everything she had sung in the song? It would be considered a porno.

  • Sheena had the misfortune of both being a star in show business and being a highly intelligent and educated young person. She had the feeling both her singles and albums were never fully realized; that the album covers and titles promised so much and seldom delivered anything completely finished or high level. So when Prince become interested she took the opportunity, which was the right thing to do. He delivered the goods but the public wasn't buying. An unfortunate turn of events.

  • That's interesting. I don't know. I just feel that everything Prince touched turned out to be just like him...an oversexed pervert.

  • I was always unhappy that while Sheena was making a fortune for her American label, it gave her little respect, always removing tracks from albums for the American version, at times removing the BEST tracks. The label also never ventured forth on her behalf. The B sides of her singles sounded totally different from everything else and many of them were not released domestically; an album of them was a natural idea but hopeless with her unimaginative record company.

  • I agree, Sugar Walls was a great single, it's the head's up their asses Repugs of the 80's who had it wrong, not Prince OR Sheena!

  • She might've redeemed herself with that cartoon she did in '96.

  • You're such a dumbass....the song is suggestive, but doesn't depict anything, doesn't use profanity and the video had no nudity it it...it's a very good song that actually did well in spite of people's heads being up their asses. This is tame compared to today's music and skanky non-singing sluts like Britney, Rhianna, and Heidi Montag!

  • she rose back to the top of the charts with "Lover In Me" in 1988 in America. The single got to nbr 2 on Billboard 100, another single "101" also penned by Prince got to nbr 2 on the Dance Charts.

  • No shit sherlock. Go fuck a midget.

  • Come spend the night inside my big vagina....

  • What's the big deal? She was doing great and took a risk on a sexier image and it failed. Her career ended after this song.

  • i respect what you say...its your right..

but my god...mmmm she could talk that way to me all night long, i wouldnt be complaning i always thought she was soooo yummy when i was growing up...i like how the song made you use your own imagination..today they just put it all out there..

  • Well that's how they talk in scotland and lets say Paul McCartney is a liverpudlian because he's from liverpool & so on none of us can help how we sound infact some sound different that you can't even hear there acsent when they sing which is why people are quite surprised when they do talk :(

  • sugar walls? that aint nothin compared to today's lyrics

  • Haha...that's what I was thinking. Things sure have changed.

  • @miamivicepastels83 exactly! Why can't they lay more of a stink as to what people do today? Now it's all deemed as "sexy and normal" Yes people like Prince, Rick James, and the like brought us raunchy lyrics, but it was okay as subliminal. It was more classy. People nowdays(the rappers) spell it all out...and give us a visual aids!

  • @miamivicepastels83

    LOL ikr :p

  • She look its Liza Minelly

  • you tell them sheena, doll. those words could ring true in todays over-censored, cotton wool society.

  • you mean when madonna rubbed her snatchwas'nt worse.

  • Yeah really. :P She's quite the little number.

Too bad her music really suffered with him. (In my own opinion of course)

  • I HIGHLY doubt that. All throghout the eighties you had to take a number to get a hold of Prince and Sheena's looks probably got her through the door. He just had that midas touch back then. Her music probably suffered at the end because with everthing in life it simply ran it's course. My .02 cents!

  • I agree about Prince, he had that Midas touch. He was also talented and creative, just not to my personal taste.Sheena sounded like a female version of Prince to me when they got together.

It's only my opinion. Most people probably liked of Sheena E for that kind of music.

I liked the "morning train" Sheena :)

  • Prince was banging her!! That lucky dude!

  • I would love to give Sheena's sugar walls all of my rock hard 7".

  • Although her music is not my favorite she is a Very strong, articulate and intelligent artist.

  • Racy back then, kids show music today......

  • LOL, they complained about this then, but now it's no big deal when someone releases a song with similar lyrics.

  • Great song by a great singer!

  • i love sheena bigtime

  • It was originally titled "piss flaps", It was felt however that this presented limited innuendo opportunities so, Sugar Walls was used as an alternative. Of course Sugar Walls is not cockney rhyming slang and is not a reference to Princes nadgers!

  • hahaha!! Nice one!

  • Exactly were is the "innuendo"? Innuendo suggests a double meaning, but the term "sugar walls" could not possibly mean ANYTHING other than vagina!

Personally, I imagine a vagina full of sugar would feel unpleasantly bitty and crunchy...

  • Should have been Honey Walls.

  • Well, now you've set my imagination running wild... ;-)

  • "The Master of Innuendo" - Prince is a creative genious.

  • spend the night inside your sugarwalls

    YES I SHALL!!!!!

  • This song by today's standards is child's play (lol)How ironic!

  • I know... the lyrics make me laugh!

  • blood rushing to private spots!

  • How silly, Sheena gets drama for her song, little did anyone know less than 20 years later, songs that are actually worth Banning are produced yet they are "okay".

  • My parents got on this band wagon and again when 2 live crew got banned. The funny thing they will never admit that it was the media that got them stirred up (and my brother and I still lisened to the music any way)

  • Ecxept it's the media that gets behind all the racy, controversial stuff.
