  • most yellow pages have a listing for a refractories supplier or pottery supply shop. Buying from a big refractory company will be cheaper than buying from a pottery supply shop.

  • How long does it take for the furnace to be up to melting temperature (from a cold start)?

  • 0-1800 the first 12 hrs, adding glass as it sinks down, then running up to cooking temp and topping up the second day. Then I hold it overnight at 1800 and run it up before using at 7 AM, it's ready for me by 9. After using, I charge and cook, then run it down again to 1800 for overnights.

  • she's a beauty !

  • The commercially available element set is from Denver Glass. The 2 elements draw around 25 amps/220v. I have mine attached to a clothes dryer plug and 30a breaker. The video sets come with a full supplier list.
