SHIT!! One of my hard drives crapped out on me earlier today. I can't believe this shit!! I've only had them for 3 months. Fuck Seagate.
I had them in a RAID setup but they were striped, not mirrored. So I lost half my stuff. At least the drive that contained Windows wasn't the one that failed.
Reinstalling would have been a pain in the ass. Don't computers just piss you the fuck off sometimes? GRRRR!!!
If you ever need a product key for something, let me know and I'll see if I can hook you up.
Don't tell anyone this, but I'm pretty well known for ripping off software. Well, it looks like you won't need to say anything. I've done gone and ratted myself out. Uh oh. LOL.
For all kinds of misc. system tweaking, try Tune-Up Utilities 2008. It's a pretty nice program and it's easy to use. I've been using it for years. I love it. It keeps my PC running smooth without giving me any bullshit.
It tweaks all kinds of stuff. Network connections and various Windows settings. It also has a hard drive and registry cleaner and too many other things to list.
Here's a registration key for it if you're interested in trying it.
Hey what kind of system do you have? Computer specs always interest me. Here's my setup. It's a bad son of a bitch and it's expensive as hell (Don't ask)
3.2GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme Quad-Core
Asus Striker II Extreme motherboard
4GB Corsair Dominator RAM (DDR3-2000)
Two 1GB BFG GeForce 9800 GX2 video cards (SLI)
Sound Blaster X-Fi Elite Pro sound card
And those are just the main components. That doesn't include my other shit! I'm not rich, I just don't have my money priorities straight
Yeah baby, you gotta tweak your shit! If you're still using an IDE drive, then there's something wrong with you! Trash that antique shit and get a SATA drive!
I have two 150GB Seagate Barracudas in a RAID setup. The reason I didn't go with a Raptor is because these drives are SATA II with a data transfer rate of 3GB/sec as opposed to the Raptor's 1.5GB/sec.
The Raptor runs at 10,000 RPM as opposed to the 7200 RPM Barracuda. But the Barracuda is actually faster.
yea compatibility sucks! and, as a developer, I don't like the new (slow) frameworks and the new user auth thing is completely gay. Stickin with my xp/linux =)
me everyone says its great and "user freindly" but it really sucks ass id rather deal with 50000 complicated settings then have all this "convenience" at least when i do it myself i can get the task done
well actually theyre supporting xp a lil longer on ultra-cheap computers (like $250-). but yea, sooner or later yourll be forced unless you dnt care abot security updates and that crap u can still use ur xp. The prob will be when all software venders start to make vista-only software =(

PS: P2P networks are a goldmine for ripping off software. My personal favorite is Ares. It's fast and easy to use.
However, if you need registration keys I would suggest you get them from text files. Keygens and Zip files are often an easy way to get viruses. :-(

No way. My PC could smoke a Mac. As far as Operating Systems are concerned, I'm thinking about ditching Windows and switching to Linux or something.
